getquin Daily Summary 07.07.2022
Hello getquin,
Boris Johnson resigns, Binance makes inroads into Europe, and GameStop split to drive stock forward!
Europe🌍:
1. Boris Johnson Resigns.
The leader of the Tory Party, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, has announced his resignation. Johnson said in London that the Conservative Party's yearning for a new leader was evident. But he said he wanted to remain in office until a successor was chosen, calling it a difficult decision to leave "the best job in the world." Normally, the offices of party leader and head of state are held jointly.
Johnson thanked everyone who voted for the Conservative Party in the 2019 House of Commons elections. He explained that he had fought "so hard" recently because he wanted to continue the commitment.

2. Binance penetrates European market
Binance, the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange, is expanding into Europe, recently investing $100 million in French startup hub Station F. According to founder Changpeng Zhao, Germany is also moving into focus.
Binance is highlighting its advantages in the process, recently announcing major advertising deals with social media sensation Khaby Lame and soccer icon Cristiano Ronaldo. The exchange claims to be in acquisition talks with 50 struggling companies as it continues to add staff. Binance's CEO claims that "not all initiatives are worth saving."
I wonder what's to come. https://bit.ly/3PbRXNG

3. GameStop split to drive share price.
Thursday's pre-market trading is sharply up for GameStop stock. On the NYSE, the stock is up nearly 5.6 percent at $124.18. On Wednesday, official trading had closed at $117.43. The stock price increase was triggered by the board-approved 1-for-4 stock split.
For every A share of the company held by shareholders at the U.S. market close on July 18, three additional shares will be issued, the video game retailer said. After the U.S. stock market closes on July 21, the shares will be posted and begin trading on a split-adjusted basis the next day.
