Invest in milk alternatives? 🌾🥛

I came across by chance earlier the Canadian company bettermoo(d) ($MOOO (+2,5%)), which is producing their new product "Moodrink" on a large scale starting in June. It is an oat-based alternative to cow's milk.

It's no secret that the market for vegan products has grown rapidly in recent years, with more and more consumers turning to animal-free alternatives. This has led to a boom in startups launching vegan products like Moodrink.

But can these small companies hold their own against the giants of the food industry like Nestlé, Unilever or Danone? Or will they sooner or later be bought out by them to expand their product lines and strengthen their market position? What do you think? Would you invest in small companies like bettermoo(d)?

Although I have been drinking only plant-based milk for several years and would love to support the smaller companies, I think it is getting harder and harder for small and new companies to compete against large corporations like Nestlé, as the food market is quite competitive. Almost 2 years ago I had considered investing in $OTLY (-1,19%) but then left it - fortunately - the stock has since fallen by almost -90%. 📉

For me, that would be far too much risk - as with Oatly - and the opportunities too small. What can they do so much better than Oatly and others that they can quickly gain relevant market share while still maintaining high margins?

This market has low chance to fail, I would consider.
But the company has no revenue, I don’t get how to value it

With the national listing at Canada's largest retail chain, the first stage of the rollout of Moodrink has been successful. The share price has been soaring since Friday.
