The UK tobacco ban is off the table for now.

Parliament will be dissolved on 30.05.2024 and the law is not one of those that will come into force by then. So that's it.

That's some good news.

It was just hot air anyway. Just like the US ban on menthol cigarettes. The Democrats realized that POC were consuming them and were afraid of losing voters 🫢

Thought BAT was in favor of a ban, so rather bad news for BAT shareholders.

@Gerit well, it just looks better to the outside world if you agree to a ban. I don't see any disadvantage. BAT only has a very small share of the UK cigarette market.
