You have to keep in mind that ESG does not only consist of the environmental aspect, but also of social aspects and corporate governance. According to Yahoo Finance, Tesla is also one of the best companies if you only pay attention to the environmental aspects, but the values for corporate governance are only average and for the social aspects the value is one of the worst I have seen so far for companies, which is not surprising if you look at reports about working conditions etc.

@JohannesJaehn I always find such evaluation criteria difficult. As far as I know, every agency has a different weighting system. The environment, social issues and corporate governance are never given equal weighting. This inevitably leads to a distorted perception, and I doubt that investors are aware of this. However, as the topic is now the focus of society and many want to participate, these investments also shift the valuation of the individual companies. In order to profit from this, in the worst case everything is painted "green" that is possible. Attempts are being made to squeeze everything into this ESG grid in order to satisfy this mania.
