Why the decision to start a dividend portfolio? The dividend strategy is demonstrably not the best.

@Epi first : I have not only a dividend deposit. through my dividend deposit I would like to have a yearly balance for private use. ( vacation, hobby ect.) not only save, also times live 😅 reward, fun, joy.

@Alefu However, it would make more sense to bet on the growth of the share/dividend than to receive a €10 dividend every month and the price falls. Because then you go out with +-0€ at some point. You can live and not only save by regularly adjusting your savings rate :)

@Alefu You're in the savings phase, right? Then you can simply pause or reduce your savings plan to have some fun. You don't have to limit your investment universe to companies that don't know what to do with their money.

@Alpalaka That is too simple for me, because prices will fall with or without dividend payments, but they will also rise. To take your example - falling prices and no dividend payout makes double minus 0

@Alefu yep, okay. Then you have to bet on high dividends and hide the price. Just wanted to give a tip, because I also have stocks with good dividends in the portfolio, but no growth is available. They are now gradually disposed of

@Alefu Uh, and why will prices fall? Do you mean because a correction is coming?
immagine del profilo
@Alpalaka Quite simply, high-yield stocks are notorious underperformers, even including dividends. In the long run, you will get farthest with dividend growth companies. But they usually only pay 1-2%.
immagine del profilo
@Alpalaka No, I do not know if the prices fall, both for stocks or ETF, but I also do not know if they rise. I only know that in the past, prices have risen and fallen. By many issues that happen in the world. But I can only speak in the past.

@Alefu Dividends can also be reduced/cancelled

@Alpalaka Can you share some of those stocks with dividend growth potential that you meant?
