Well, people will always smoke and drink, but unfortunately smoking is on the decline in relation to the world's population. What is important for the tobacco companies $IMB$MO$BATS$PM$2914 is to find an alternative to smoking and to increase their sales through clever acquisitions. If the development in this direction does not work for one company, it will quickly be overtaken by the others. It will be exciting to see how the big five deal with this in the future, but it is anything but a safe environment in the coming years 😄
There are currently around 1.3 billion smokers and it is estimated that by 2025 there will "only" be 1.27 billion.
I could imagine that it will be slightly less, because more and more people in the emerging markets have access to it and also have the money for it (-;
I'm invested in both $IMB and $BATS and I'm happy about a lot of dividends every year, whether it's 1.3 or 1.27 or 1 billion smokers. (-:
