Hey, what do you guys actually think about Islamic ETFs?

I often read here that some ETFs are highly recommended, but never to the Islamic ETFs.

If I would invest in ETFs, then one of those: $ISUS (-0,3 %)
$ISWD (-0,34 %) and $ISDE (-0,92 %) , simply for religious reasons.

I think very few, even none at all is invested there, because there are simply also better ETFs, or growth starchers.

What is your opinion about these Islamic ETFs?

Other than for religious reasons, I see no reason to buy these ETF's....

@Therapeut because you are not very attractive compared to other ETFs?
image de profil
@savvy_investor_60 they are strictly controlled and have poor performance

What strikes me is that the financial sector is completely absent and the ETFs are even more IT-heavy than the conventional indices, Microsoft in $ISWD with 15% weighting, in $ISUS almost 23%, which is extreme for such ETfs.

@PassiveAggressive "fortunately"
image de profil
@PassiveAggressive why did you retract your comment 😂🤣
image de profil
@savvy_investor_60 because I thought this was supposed to be about finance, not religion.

@PassiveAggressive I had read through the comment before you deleted it and I really have to say that was the worst thing I've read in a long time, so childish and disrespectful, I just hope you do not have children and are not 30 years old.

@savvy_investor_60 soso and I am disrespectful?.. ^^ I remain that I am glad to have grown up far away from religious constraints and to be allowed to live. If you feel thereby on your Muslim tie stepped, it is to me cordially indifferent. It would be by the way also, if it were a Christian or Jewish tie. The sentence with the spaghetti monster referred to it. And now it is also enough. Whom 2000 years of scientific progress do not disconcert, he will probably not let himself be diverted from his holy path by a commentary discussion.

@PassiveAggressive Nené you know exactly what else you wrote, this you specifically did not mention because it was so shameful....

@savvy_investor_60 No, actually I don't. Shoot, what hit you so hard?

@savvy_investor_60 I did that six comments ago... now spit it out, too, if you make such a scene here...

It is a good thing for devout Muslims to be introduced to investing.

@Ecoinvestment definitely, for beginners definitely, but after a while I would invest in convincing stocks

I don't think anything of it. 🐴

I find the concept behind it interesting and more intelligent than ESG stuff. Still, I tend to invest more in normal ETFs as they have better performance. Info on the topic probably has @halal_investieren

@Staatsmann The main reason for the decision for such ETFs is the religious background. In addition, there may be general ethical reasons, such as the desire to avoid the arms industry, drugs (including tobacco and alcohol), conventional financial sector, etc. If you have no restrictions at all, then the decision is rather against. These ETFs are less diversified and have a slightly lower performance than their non-halal counterparts.

Are not the interest forbidden in Islam that one may not get there even daily money account interest or am I wrong?
1

@Esperanza richtig 👍🏽
2
image de profil
@Esperanza Correct, only that Islamic banks do not call it interest, but yield and with a financing, financial markup. It's actually shit like shit, just want to sell us that there is no interest.

Is there actually anything where Allah and Mohammed have nothing to say? 🙄 Did not even know that there is such a thing.

@RealMrKrabs In theory, there are rules for capital markets for all religions. Only there is a real demand only in Islam. e.g. compound interest is forbidden for Christians according to the OT, but they are rather seldom interested in it. In the New Testament, the rules then suddenly became more relaxed 😉

@RealMrKrabs What is so bad about it? You said yourself you didn't even know about it, that means it's not passively forced on you and it's not in your face every day like some Lgbtq heinis. These etfs are simply so you don't invest in the tobacco or alcohol industry, I see absolutely no problem with that. Allah is also = God even the Lebanese Christians say Allah. This is simply the Arabic language. And where has Mohamed as. Here what to report that you feel so attacked? There are shares not only in Europe but also in the Middle East ;)

@Leb_Trader simply to the point ❤️

@RealMrKrabs no because Muslims live to serve Alla and Mohammed and the Quran are the guide. I have a handful of Muslim friends who practice 2 of them are even German. I am myself invested in World islamic etf I am very satisfied as I do not want to invest in gambling porn tobacco industry and this is exactly what the islamic etfs do not do.

@RealMrKrabs are you dissatisfied with yourself or where the hatred comes from ? Come to terms with yourself... we do not want to invest in alcohol, tobacco, porn and the gun industry because it harms people... but you are a heartless without understanding :)

@Ahmadeln i am very happy with alcohol, tobacco, porn and guns. Called freedom you god warrior 😁

@RealMrKrabs you look like this too

@RealMrKrabs Good for you. But leave the others alone. No one is forcing you to live according to Islam, so you can't force anyone NOT to live according to Islam.

As an avowed atheist and capitalist, a no go for me.

@TheRealBurnsy Ok. Is it bad now if people of faith invest in an ETF that is aligned with their faith?
image de profil
@TheRealBurnsy Well, bad luck :-)

I am invested in msci World islamic etf and as some claim here it has nothing to do with religion but there is not invested in gambling porn tobacco industry. I find great and am satisfied.

@Okulaja I can understand the safe. Everyone has their own strategy, some are focused on the money, they don't care what the company has for a concept, if they are convincing. For the others it is important that they do not support gambling, porn industry, for example. Therefore everything is easy

Actually, one should not invest in almost any company, because probably all of them pay interest for loans or hold bonds. Thus, with 100% consistency, the only thing left to do would be to invest in real assets and real estate with equity.
