An (opinion & experience) update on the spin-off of $SOLV WI (-0,71 %) Solventum and reverse split $GLAD (-0,69 %) Gladstone Capital. The Solventum shares were tradable after about 3-4 weeks, the Glad shares within a few days and since yesterday savings plans are available again at SC.

What I will do for the next spin-offs and splits is to keep more calm. I could have saved myself all those posts and thoughts afterwards. Everything worked out without me having to do anything.

If such "complex" things work out, nobody will have to ask in future when their dividend from $BATS (-0,28 %) will finally arrive. 🤣🤣

@Smudeo You just can't have everything. I haven't yet found the jack of all trades. :)

So SC for the free savings plans on shares, but I have to be patient at events like this.

I still have my securities account with IB, where I can trade on umpteen exchanges and in the respective currency and, above all, write options. In return, I have the annual expense of filing my tax return there. There's always something. :D

@_xempex_ S(T)eclaration? You can do KAP yourself, can't you?

@Smudeo Yes, I do it myself. But it's still a lot of work. With SC or ING, I have nothing to do. I pay my withholding tax and that's that.

It's different with IB. You don't pay any withholding tax at all, at most withholding tax on dividends. And then you have to pay tax on everything at the end of the year. It's also not always that easy, because IB doesn't correctly display the purchase prices for shares that are booked in via options. So it all comes down to manual work. And sending in a huge report every year. :D

@_xempex_ Hy, which broker is abbreviated as IB?

@Oso Interactive Brokers. either there directly or via one of the German Introducing Partners. E.g. estably, Captrader etc.
