China shares ?!

How do you deal with China shares?

Does it make sense to buy or should you stay away from individual positions and rather invest in the market via an ETF?

I'm in the process of reading up on the subject and am finding it a bit difficult. 🙈

I'm interested in the specific example of Alibaba and what you would rather buy, $BABA (-1,54 %) or $9988 (-0,42 %) and why?

What do you think about ADR? (Advantages and disadvantages).

I am interested in the opinions of those who have already had experience with it.

Baba, BYD, Xiaomi, Tencent - I am currently investing more in China & gold than anything else. I'm still considering PDD 🤔

Whether ETF or individual share is a question of risk 🤷‍♂️ Diversify or not.

ADR is self-explanatory with Google and GPT 😅 What I think about it - established and safe (99.9%)

China stocks are really cheap, my favorite is anta sports, they are Nike in better if they come down again I'll buy more 🤝👌

I already had both Alibaba, formerly the ADR $BABA, then switched to the HK $9988 at the time of the de-listing discussions. After the good performance a few weeks ago, I swapped it for a HangSeng Tech ETF $HSTC in order to be a bit more broadly diversified. But this is due to my risk management. I still have a positive view of Alibaba.

If you want to go for individual China stocks, why not Alibaba.
As long as Trump is reasonably good with China, the ADR has no disadvantages. It is more liquid and therefore has a slightly lower spread than the HK share. That's the only disadvantage I see with $9988 at the moment, otherwise it doesn't matter...
