I wanted to do a little AI research today on $ZPRG . The AI simply failed several times to give me the right ETF. I was surprised and called it out on it. 😅 Its response: Now my question to you: How much do you actually trust your AI’s recommendations? I mean, it’s really bad if it spits out the wrong stock analysis and you end up buying based on it.

My prompt helps me build my portfolio, evaluate my asset allocation, and filter suitable companies based on my exact criteria. These criteria don’t have to be the same as anyone else’s—in my view, a prompt for your own portfolio is just as individual as your risk tolerance, investment goals, and so on. But I’m happy to help with questions about creating prompts, troubleshooting issues, and so on.😊

So I've configured my AI in the "Basic Settings" so that I only want verifiable statements and no assumptions or guesses. I also specified that I don’t want to read any sugarcoating, flowery language, or other such nonsense, but rather rational statements with justifications and source references. And if something is ambiguous, it should ask for clarification. And if something can’t be found or verified, it should say so clearly.

Admittedly, I haven’t used it much for financial matters yet, but when it comes to self-hosting various tools across a wide range of applications, I get along great with the AI.
It’s important, though, to state very clearly what you need, what you want, and—in my case—which versions of programs and applications you’re using, so that the AI can extract the correct information from the right guides and sources.

AI has some trouble with ETF ticker symbols. ZPRG is not the universal name for this ETF. On the Deutsche Börse/Xetra, the ticker symbol is ZPRG. However, the same fund with the same ISIN, IE00B9CQXS71, is traded, for example, in London as GBDV (GBP) or GLDV (USD) and in Italy also as GLDV. The better the input, the better the result. In your case, a clear match could not be made, and therefore your question could not be answered satisfactorily.

On average, about 30% of the answers are said to be incorrect or made up (the error rate varies widely depending on the topic). Just ask your AI about it—it’s pretty interesting ☺️

I think the answers generated by my prompt are very accurate. But I’m not even sure how long I spent tinkering with it to create my “manual.” It involved quite a few revisions and evolved over the course of several months. Now, though, I have a useful additional tool for evaluating my portfolio.
