And Lula's reelection in Brazil. Not a great combination right now...

@pivot_code What do you think will happen to the stock price in light of this news?

@Kanye-Invest Well, that would be speculation. If Lula wants to take on more debt for Brazil, things could potentially take another turn for the worse. Since he leans to the left, it’s safe to assume that he won’t suddenly adopt a restrictive stance or promote fiscal discipline. Public debt stands at 82% of GDP. Long-term interest rates may rise, making loans more expensive. This means the burden on borrowers will increase, which could lead to more loan defaults and, consequently, higher provisions for those defaults at NU.

So, it’s a mix of political uncertainty, interest rate risk, and credit default risk. I imagine this is probably being priced in again now.

Buffet definitely knew about it beforehand. He always keeps an eye on management and decides who will run the company. I highly doubt that this information wasn't already available at the time of the sale at $BRK.B.

Are you going to buy some? Or are you going to get on board?

Actually, I wasn't planning on selling the French fry stand until January,...

It's just a fry shop anyway. I think we'll see single-digit dollar prices soon.

@Multibagger Don't scare me. Why do you think that would happen?

@Kanye-Invest Lula will continue to push for regulation. In fact, he wants to impose burdens and restrictions on all digital corporations. I think that will hit companies like NU hard. If you invest heavily in emerging markets, you also have to consider the implications of potential election platforms. In this case, it was a 50/50 chance as to who would win. The only thing that can save $NU is that the legislature is largely controlled by the right, forcing Lula to make compromises.

Thanks for your detailed analysis. Do you think it makes sense to completely exit the position before the earnings report?

@Kanye-Invest Since it slowed its intraday decline yesterday and reduced its losses, I would base my decision on the size of your position and how much you're in the red.

About 7% of the portfolio. The entry price is €11.45, so it's basically at zero right now.

@Kanye-Invest Then I’d hold onto them, wait for the earnings report, and set a stop-loss below yesterday’s intraday low at 9.90—or, if you want to leave yourself some wiggle room, at 9.75 €. That would cap the risk on your entry at about 15%, which would then account for roughly 1% of your portfolio value. But of course, that’s just my approach to investing. This isn’t investment advice, and naturally, you have to assess for yourself how much risk of loss you’re willing to take. However, following yesterday’s sharp sell-off, I see more opportunity than risk in relation to the earnings report. Depending on how the stock performs after the earnings report, I would then gradually raise the stop-loss until I’ve at least broken even.
