World ETF

Unfortunately, I have 4 World ETFs in my portfolio🙈 Starting this year, I've been saving only in the $VWCE (-0,33 %) . Should I sell the others (all of which are in the black) or hold onto them?

I'd leave it as is, too. If a crisis ever hits and they're no longer in the black, you can always consolidate them on a tax-neutral basis.

If they are of different ages, they will likely have different performance histories, so it may be worth holding onto them to defer taxes in the event of a sale and selling only the ones with the lowest performance—for example, the most recent shares—first.

It all depends on how much money is in there, how much tax you'd owe, whether you've already used up your tax-free allowance, etc.

It's hard to say anything for sure off the top of my head.

Unless the TERs of the other World ETFs are significantly higher than that of the $VWCE, I would leave them as they are.

@Timmy2 Just leave it alone. Why pay taxes and end up with less capital?

You’d be better off asking yourself: How is it that you already have 4 ETFs with so little capital?

A 0.2% TER is a standard fee—not excessively low, but not high either.

@Timmy2 The information in the subordinate clause has been missing so far—you’ve only mentioned the $VWCE. That’s why I assume you’ve been contributing to global ETFs that don’t include emerging markets (EMs).

You’re switching your ETF because you want to include EMs. Choose an index/ETF and contribute to it. Some people switch, for example, at certain intervals (several years) due to FIFO, while others switch as soon as they’ve contributed a certain amount (e.g., €100,000).
