Goldman Sachs Group Inc.'s first credit facility backed by bitcoin is the latest attempt by crypto exchange Coinbase Global Inc. to move money from Wall Street into the digital asset space. "Coinbase's collaboration with Goldman is a first step toward recognizing cryptocurrencies as collateral, deepening the bridge between the fiat and crypto economies," Brett Tejpaul, head of Coinbase Institutional, said in an emailed response. Coinbase did not disclose further details about the loan. A Goldman Sachs spokeswoman said last week that the loan was secured by bitcoin owned by the previously unnamed borrower.
