Savings plan for Junior - how ideal?

Hello Community,

I would like to set up a savings plan for my son and am looking for an ideal way to do this.

I would like to invest at least €400 per month over the long term (at least 15 years).

As I invest actively myself, I am not afraid to make adjustments from time to time.

I have the following in mind:

280 € in a broad-based ETF such as the $VWRL (-1,17 %)

60 € in a momentum ETF

60 € in a sector bet as an ETF, e.g. semiconductors / robotics or similar (adjust regularly)

Does it make sense to do it this way?

When should the monthly payments be made (at the beginning, middle or end of the month)?

Do monthly payments make more sense than a large one-off payment?

I would appreciate your constructive tips and advice.

Thank you & best regards.

$VWCE I have this for our 2 children, nothing more. I don't think you can go wrong :)

I also have a custody account for each of my children and have been saving in an accumulating World ETF for both of them since they were born. Of course, you have an impressive savings rate for the little one - great 👍

I think your allocation is very appropriate and future-oriented ✊🚀 I've already thought about adding a sector ETF for mine, as the custody accounts will run for at least 15-16 years before they receive the money or have access to their custody accounts.

I have the Vanguard ESG Global All-CAP $V3AA for mine and am very happy with it so far.
Sector bets would be more speculation for me and I don't want to speculate unnecessarily with my children's money, that's why I have my own portfolio.

Great selection 👍 I also have 3 ETFs running for my daughter.

I do it for my son so that I don't do any "speculation" on his behalf. So all-in in a world ETF.
If I have extraordinary success with sector bets or something else by the time he grows up, I can still send him something.
And it's also quite nice to "compete" against my son's benchmark portfolio 😉
Great savings rate!!! 💪🏼
