New purchase - Pernod Ricard🥂🍾

On Friday I decided to buy the Pernod Ricard $RI (+2,31 %) on Friday. I think I made a good anti-cyclical purchase. At the same time, it was only the first tranche, which can still be increased.

A dividend of over 4% tastes good, and a rise in the share price can provide a yield booster.

What do you think of my latest purchase?

You'll need a real Pernod, or two 😇😉, at the latest when the taxes hit after the dividend statement

There's some truth in that 🥲
@Dividendenopi I will stay away from French equities in the future and have therefore sold Air Liquide and recently LVMH after I was more or less back at par.

@Solitair Why? Because of the withholding tax? 🙈
@Rendite_Fux Yes. However, I don't see huge growth potential for LVMH either.

Huge trend reversal formation, stable downtrend, US tariffs on the horizon, EU recession.
I don't know, I would have waited for a bottom first.

@Rendite_Fux Nothing against the share as such, just against the timing.

@Epi may be. When I get in, I watch stocks, inform myself and think about when to get in.
If the share falls into the most depressive scenario, I get in. I have often found a low point or a good turnaround price this way. This doesn't always work, but it has worked many times.

I find it better to buy shares at the lowest point than to sell shares in general.

That's why I currently tend to buy and hold such stocks and also buy growth companies from their dividends via a savings plan or keep the cash for setbacks in higher-growth companies. ✌️

@Rendite_Fux Sure, if you like bottom fishing, why not?
It's a kind of mean reversion strategy. I think there is a lot of literature on this, e.g. on the question of how long the effect lasts. This can then be used to formulate and test a clear strategy for entry and exit conditions.
Only with a consistently implemented strategy will you become profitable in the long term. Everything else is luck. 🤷

@Epi This is one of my stocks. In addition to a high, profitable crypto strategy (which partly reflects the growth part of my portfolio)

Anti-cyclical investing has worked so far with many growth companies, one or two warrants or cryptocurrencies.

I have a savings plan for many stocks (safety), but if these charts fall sharply technically, I take advantage of favorable entry prices.

But of course I run the risk of buying the "losers" when I bet on such strong rebounds. I will monitor my purchases and their performance over the next few years and then see how my performance has been affected by such purchases 😅😁

However, as I am generally not interested in cyclical stocks, but rather in slow, middle and fast-growers, I currently feel very comfortable with my own strategy 😉 The money for this came from a short-term ETH trade anyway, so theoretically from high-risk to lower-risk...
