Hello my dears,

I am invested in Alphawave, is anyone else invested here? And what do you do now?

On Monday, the US chip manufacturer Qualcomm announced an agreement to acquire the British semiconductor company Alphawave for around 2.4 billion US dollars.

As part of the deal, Alphawave shareholders will receive 183 per share, a premium of almost 96% over the closing price before Qualcomm's interest in the company became known.

In addition, Qualcomm has made alternative share offers to Alphawave shareholders.

I'm facing the same question right now😅
Does it make sense to sell now with the nice price jump or to continue holding?

How do you proceed?

183 pounds(?) is how much Eur? Since the Alphawave share is displayed here in EUR. If the price is above the offer, sell. Otherwise wait or accept the offer

@Smudeo 1,83 GBP (183 pence per share)-> 2,17 EUR

I think they will have to make some improvements here

Takeover by ARM would have been a better fit

@PikaPika0105
Or takeover of Intel

@Tenbagger2024 Qualcomm is only afraid of losing importance

@Tenbagger2024 but someone with real design skills would have been good, and since the IP business model is so similar to ARM's, it would have been a better fit

I'm not quite as familiar with the subject.
But I joined Alphawave back then because it was supposed to be a European alternative to NVIDIA.
And so Qualcomm is buying the technology of high-performance CPUs.
What might still be exciting

@Tenbagger2024 So they don't have much to do with NVIDIA. They sell licenses for their IP in terms of high-performance connectivity. It's important for AI, but something completely different.

But I do see it as a good purchase by Qualcomm. To continue to play a role in the topic of AI
