The bittersweet farewell to Novo Nordisk - a last smart move

I recently decided to sell my Novo Nordisk shares - at a price of €45.91. In the meantime, I even made a profit of around 100% on the position, but in the end I took a loss on the shares. $NOVO B (-7,92 %)

The reason: a restructuring in the portfolio, which allowed me to offset losses against gains from other shares for tax purposes. This allowed me to clean up my portfolio structure and optimize my tax burden at the same time.

Sometimes a strategic sale is more valuable than stubbornly holding on to old positions.

My position is also hurting, but selling at the absolute low point, although this stock definitely has potential (even if perhaps not an ATH), is painful

@juliana-investment Nope, but thanks anyway

And how does this post help those who are still invested 10€ lower at this point in time? I'm no longer invested, don't worry. I'm just wondering what added value those who are still in it now have when they read that you did everything right X weeks ago. 🤷‍♂️

@Keineui I think it was more about pointing out that it can make strategic and tax sense to realize losses. I do that more often, by the way. I don't think that was a finger wagging ala ätsch ich bin raus rechtzeitig und ihr nicht sollte sein.

@Multibagger @Keineui Thanks Chris, that's exactly what I meant. Sometimes it can also make sense to go with losses. Nobody can tell you what is the right thing to do in the end.

I'm with you. Sorry, I could have written it differently. Just thought the timing was strange. The message would have gotten across at just over €40...
