@RenditeRudin and you are happy to pay withholding tax, which would otherwise not be incurred for the right share because it is UK based? And you accept the political risk? It would never occur to me to buy an ADR.

@Transporter Wrong! I do not pay withholding tax on the Hsbc ADR, as the home country is decisive and that is the UK, which does not levy withholding tax on the CH

@RenditeRudin ok you seem to be right, I had it differently in my head. Nevertheless, the risk would be too high for me if I can buy the original without any problems.

@Transporter I would also prefer to hold the original, but the € and the pound are losing so much value against the CHF that I prefer the $, which is at least moving sideways to some extent, but that's the problem :)
