Took part in a competition this evening on 27.04.2024 in Stuttgart at the 11th German Raw Materials Night and won a 1/2 gold coin with the mintage of $CXB (+4,22 %) won.

Even if, of course, the "coin" itself will be counted as a medal when it is purchased, making it a fused product that will be bought at a greater discount than a comparable bullion coin (investment coin). But as the saying goes? You don't look a gift shark between the gills? 😜

@Therapeut Depending on what kind of buyer you go to, you might get a 15-5% discount. So in terms of price, we're looking at €925 to €1030. So it makes sense to compare. 🥲

(Assuming it is 1/2 ounce 999.9 AU)

@Therapeut Where the most is paid. 😬 Sorry, you know - I'm a bit biased.
Of course, you have the best chances in big cities with lots of competition. But definitely not at a jeweler's, unless it's really at the top end of the price scale. But experience has shown that it is very rare for a jeweler to do you a "good" deal. That's where the markdowns are often the highest.

@Therapeut Exactly. Just use one day to "visit" the city and ask in 5-6 stores. Then you'll definitely get a good overview. But please don't ask everyone within a radius of 100 meters 😉.

@Therapeut exactly so👍🏻. Mostly from private sellers, of course very often in the context of "distress sales", so that you can push the price down as far as possible kann🤷🏼‍♂️. My current focus is on British Full Sovereign or South African 2 Rand coins, as they are traded very close to the actual gold price. In terms of fine gold content, they are just under 1/4 ounce each. You don't have to worry much or at all about collector's surcharges (which can be a problem with some Krugerrand, Maple Leaf etc. vintages, for example). vintages).

@Therapeut As I don't have the experience of @PassiveInvest, I use the certified gold sales outlets and regularly buy there anonymously up to 2k euros and pay cash. I also like to buy 5g or 10g bars, even if the premium is higher. What you have, you have 😇

Thanks for your tips, I sold my gold yesterday.
I looked for a seller at www.gold.de and went there yesterday. The gold was handed in, checked and transferred to my account today. I got €67.75 per gram, so there was no discount.
It was worth it🫡💰
