According to an article in the MDR the number of complaints about delayed or undelivered letters at Deutsche Post continues to grow significantly. $DHL (-1,15 %) continues to grow significantly. By October 2024 alone, the Federal Network Agency had already received over 32,000 complaints received. This represents a new high and significantly exceeds the previous year's figures. Rural areas are particularly affected, where deliveries are often delayed or not made at all. Although these are complaints from the entire German (postal) sector, around 90% of them relate to Deutsche Post (DHL).
Deutsche Post justifies the problems with a lack of skilled workers and a decline in letter volumes. According to critics, however, this reflects a lack of adaptation of internal structures to the current challenges. The Federal Network Agency is demanding that Deutsche Post take measures to improve the situation and is investigating whether legal requirements have been breached.
Personal opinion:
Despite all this, DHL is regularly voted the number 1 best service provider in the industry. More parcels and letters also means more complaints, nothing special, but from DHL's point of view it should be taken seriously and appropriate measures introduced.
