Hitachi $6501 (+3,82 %) announced on Friday that it has joined Anthropic’s cybersecurity program for critical infrastructure. The company cited the growing cyber risks arising from advances in artificial intelligence.
The Japanese energy and transportation conglomerate stated in a press release that it has joined Anthropic’s “Critical Infrastructure Defense Program” as a founding partner. According to Hitachi, the program’s goal is to strengthen cybersecurity for critical infrastructure such as utilities and transportation services.
The program aims to enhance cybersecurity by integrating Anthropic’s Claude models into products and services in the sector.
Hitachi stated that the partnership with Anthropic is being continuously expanded following the collaboration agreement the two companies reached in June.
Cybersecurity has become a central issue in AI development following a series of high-profile hacks and security breaches caused by AI agents earlier this year. Anthropic had called for a slowdown in AI development to prevent further such incidents and highlighted the growing cybersecurity risks posed by AI.
