ORLEN $PKN (-1,38 %) has just completed the expansion of the Kleczew photovoltaic farm to 250 MW.
This is now the largest solar installation in ORLEN’s portfolio and one of the biggest in Central and Eastern Europe.
The photovoltaic farm was built on reclaimed land from an old lignite mine and produces enough clean energy to power around 100,000 households per year.
It also already has all permits and room to grow further to ~334 MW and is already fully operational.
This is a clear sign that ORLEN is delivering on its renewable energy strategy and that renewables are becoming an important part of the group’s future alongside traditional refining and petrochemicals.
