According to forecasts by the auditors at PWC, a golden age beckons for the semiconductor sector.

It is already increasingly common to hear from the automotive industry, for example, that production lines are at a standstill due to a lack of the coveted semiconductor chips. The Volkswagen Group alone, with brands such as Audi and Porsche, has been unable to complete 100,000 vehicles. You can see how scarce semiconductors have become.

The chips are also urgently needed in the areas of artificial intelligence, cyber security, smartphones or the smart home. The list could certainly be continued for a long time.

I have put the ETF in my portfolio to profit from this development! I am curious to see how the journey continues and whether my idea will work.

I would also like to include it in the portfolio, but I am concerned that it could eventually become too many ETFs. I am also undecided about the investment amount. May I ask how much you are investing in this position (in €)?

@Mattkatt77 For me it is about 3.5% of the total portfolio, but is still increased somewhat by purchases 😊

@Maxximieren Savings plan or one-time investment?

@leveragegrinde unfortunately you are right! Unfortunately, there is no comparable ETF from the industry offered at Trade Republic.

@TradeRepublicAutisten We have seen, for example, with the Intel share price, that it can also go in the other direction. So I don't have to commit to one share and can profit from the whole industry :)

@Maxximieren it would also be the same case with the ETF. Nothing is better than something else. Just because it happened at Intel doesn't mean it will happen at other semiconductor manufacturers. What about Qualcomm, Nvidia, IBM, Broadcom, etc?????
