Why should the man pay for the woman?
Why should the woman accept money for her time?
Are we still in the realm of feelings and affection or are we talking about services?

•@MWS you don't have to. But as a woman between a generous man and a man who doesn't like to spend (we assume both are otherwise on the same level), the woman would take the generous one, I would say as a woman first

@Esperanza I fully agree with you.
The basic dilemma in gender relations: status and money still count more than equality.
I mean this in a non-judgmental way, as we can't help our subconscious.
The question that arises for me is: how far do we allow "archaic" principles to apply, since we all know that the sexes are of equal value?
As well as in today's world, where fortunately women also have well-paid jobs. Why not have a financially (equally) potent partner?
Then there are completely different possibilities with vacations, etc.

@MWS It's not as if the man has to pay for everything. If the woman is grateful, she pays the next time. I also like paying back and forth. In addition, the gender pay gap still exists. Women earn less than men from the moment they start working. When women get pregnant, they have lost another chance in their career because they have to rest after giving birth and take care of children (breastfeeding, lack of sleep, etc.) and men make careers more easily during this time. And at home so the invisible work that is not paid so I will definitely divide the household fairly. What do you mean by vacation?

@Esperanza when I plan a vacation with a financially potent (and willing!) woman, the possibilities are immediately different:
- better hotel
- very good restaurant
- spa etc
With women who like to be invited, I plan quite differently :)

•@Esperanza the gender pay gap is not that high as long as you start from the same profession and don't compare the income of a manager with that of a kindergarten teacher.
Children are usually a conscious decision and who stays at home can certainly be discussed. However, whether it makes sense for the kindergarten teacher to go to work and the manager to stay at home.... yes example deliberately chosen to be extreme

Btw here in Switzerland it's not the gender pay gap, but much more the children get gender pay gap.
Women without children earn almost the same as men.
As a foreigner, I earn on average as much as a Swiss woman...
... Nobody shows solidarity with me :)

@Esperanza back and forth when going out is great, you're right!
And dividing the household fairly is also important in my opinion.
Only then are we a long way away from the traditional division of roles :)

•@MWS I solidarize with you 😂 I am a foreigner and a woman 😅. Exactly, I suspect that even if women don't have children, they earn just as much as men. But I also see in many comments that if it's the case that women miss out on a career because of a family, then the man also pays more, so it's already fairly distributed in society

•@Eggplant not that extreme. It's not just the gender pay gap, but also the tax model where one person pays much less than the other. If women earn less anyway because of children and then pay even more tax, it is usually unpleasant for women. But you're right, who stays at home can be discussed, that's nice, then the woman can get in better afterwards

@MWS Yes, I can also understand that you want to pay up to a certain limit. You don't always have to invite her. And does the wife also pay for vacation? I actually assume that the costs for vacation are shared. So it doesn't really matter whether you go to the spa or not, you always pay half. Or do you invite vacation?
