What makes you think of Mercedes? To be honest, unless there’s a fundamental change in the company’s structure, I don’t see a particularly bright future for Mercedes. And I don’t really see any structural changes happening there. The executive board is poor, and IGM isn’t doing a good job either. Employees are now all demotivated, which is very noticeable in terms of unused shift balances and sick days.

Unfortunately, Mercedes—or rather, its management—has almost always sabotaged itself. Keywords: integrated technology group, Fokker, DaimlerChrysler, Smart, Tesla, Mitsubishi, luxury strategy. I wish the company all the best—as the inventor of the automobile, it deserves it.

@Nastja I generally believe that the automotive market is currently facing a very challenging environment. Basically, global production capacity as a whole exceeds what can be sold profitably. It’s certainly not an easy job for management.
