10-bagger silver ETC

My 2x leveraged silver position $LSIL (-48,26 %) has now become a 10-bagger. I sold the first tranche at the end of 2025 at a good 5x when the margin requirements rose.

The retail FOMO on Reddit is getting a bit too blatant for me, but you hardly read anything about it here. I'm thinking of switching the ETC to a physical, unleveraged position now. As I no longer expect the vola to move in one direction only, I would like to reduce the rolling losses. The capital should then flow into a physical product that is really covered (no swap etc.).

Just a question for the experts:

  • What do the others do who don't play casino,
  • Which product do you buy/hold?

I mean, gold is clear, you really buy it physically, but silver is not so easy.

I don't like all this leverage stuff. It's too volatile for that, even if there is a direction.

I only ever invest directly.

@Madhatter5566 I agree, but sometimes leverage makes sense in the short term. And if you need leverage, it's usually because you have a gamble problem or don't have the capital to work without it.

Silver is basically just as easy physically, but of course the dear fairy tale tax always gets in the way.🙄

I have thrown $WSIL into a savings plan, as physical delivery is possible, profits are tax-free after 1 year.🤷🏼‍♂️

@All-in-or-nothing Well, as an Austrian there is no tax exemption for ETCs after the holding period. And as far as I've heard, the costs for delivery are extreme if you don't deliver kilos straight away and then I have to pay the pointless tax again. A duty-free warehouse would probably be the most economical option.
