The chips were probably procured somewhere yesterday, and VW is now even supposed to be working extra shifts (as of yesterday) in order to cope with the rush of orders for e-models.
Incidentally, our last Economics Minister wanted to set up a semiconductor production site in eastern Germany with Infineon (and even with state aid).
Well, Porsche is now building 100% combustion engines again.

Perhaps it would also be a business model for VW to build a semiconductor company itself. And not always rely on suppliers and politics.
It would also be a game changer, which would certainly be good for the share price

•@Tenbagger2024 Good idea, VW can then use the production halls for Porsche's semiconductor production as a production facility when they go bankrupt next year :-).
Semiconductor chips made by Porsche, each chip lovingly packaged in a velvet box with the Porsche logo on it. That will be the game changer!

•@Tenbagger2024 There are reasons why no car manufacturer produces the chips themselves. There is a lack of know-how and the entire assembly costs billions.

I just wonder how the Chinese manage to do this. Perhaps with more optimism

@Tenbagger2024 Optimism, cheaper energy, lower labor costs, generally a different attitude,... 😉
