A rocket on a favorite share

from some here $AMD (-3,56 %) with a lot of potential, but also relatively high risk for a discount certificate. But if it works out, almost 300% is possible.

would you like to explain it briefly? the payout of €10 at the end of the term is given when?

Imagen de perfil
@Tigawutz of course. First of all, there is no 10€, but a maximum of 10$. The certificate has a strike at 160$ and a cap at 170$. The valuation date is December 19. If the $AMD share then falls below $160, the certificate expires worthless. If the share is between $160 and $170, the value is in between. So at $168 then $8. If the share is at $170 or higher, the maximum amount of $10 is paid. Converted at the €/$ exchange rate.

Reading BIB helps :-) Found it :-)

It will go wrong! 😉 $AMD is a great company and has a lot of catching up to do

@Max095 I'm not a big fan of them, but I read a long interview with the CEO yesterday and what she said sounded very promising. I just don't know if the term of the certificate is long enough. But no risk, no big fun 😂😉
in the meantime, AMD is still in with the SU92VR 265$ call in addition to shares. AI interference is running👍

@Cai-pirinha 100% out of the money, bold, but good leverage
@Multibagger can't complain so far 😀

@Cai-pirinha It is important that you change the bill in good time as the remaining term decreases, as it then reduces the premium disproportionately and the leverage is no longer effective.
@Multibagger thank you! how much remaining term are you thinking of plus minus? since the bill still runs until dec 26 - or simply as a general warning?
1
Imagen de perfil
@Cai-pirinha That was general. Since you can't say that in general terms. If there is a setback in between, the reduction of the premium starts earlier. Otherwise, as a rule of thumb, 6 months before expiry.

I bought the share in April at €73.xx. Currently one of the best yielding stocks in my portfolio with a 58% gain. I think that as a buy and hold stock we can expect much more in the future ✌️

Huiui the rocket is going well so far...

I went in and what can I say is running ;-)

@Pleni70 I'm happy when it also works for people who are skeptical about derivatives or demonize them as a gamble.😂
Imagen de perfil
@Multibagger I think it's a very good add-on for performance, but unfortunately I don't know enough about it.

@Pleni70 Then you're like me with crypto😉😂

Good evening Chris,
Fortunately, I also bought this bill after you and am now up 35%. So first of all, thanks for sharing. I have a few more questions. In the best case scenario, do I get 8 dollars per share at the end of the term plus the cost value/price value or just the 8 dollars? Because if I "only" get the 8 dollars, that would be around €341 for my 50 shares at the current exchange rate. Assuming I were to sell the bill immediately, I would get €270 but would have no further risk and the capital could be put to work elsewhere... I'm finding it hard to put my thoughts into words right now. But I think you know what I mean?

Imagen de perfil
@Iwamoto you get 10$ in the best case, converted at the then valid exchange rate
1
Imagen de perfil
@Multibagger okay, so if everything goes well, around €425 in four months or €270 immediately 🙈 Are you facing the same dilemma or possibly a bigger one?
Imagen de perfil
@Multibagger by the way, I bought another one today HT5H3Z is 10% up
Imagen de perfil
@Iwamoto Good luck
1
Imagen de perfil
@Iwamoto No, I don't have a dilemma. I don't look at absolute converted profits. Long-term bonds like this one must be able to offer me a high probability of at least 10% potential per month to maturity. As long as that is the case and they are not down more than 30%, I don't sell.

@Iwamoto Good morning Kate, I have another risky but lucrative tidbit for you that I might get into today after the market opens in the USA.
MM0DFU
Have a successful day.

Imagen de perfil
@Iwamoto Just a quick explanation for you. I don't buy riskier securities that can bring me several 100% and then sell them after 30-40% profit. I would only do that if the remaining term is too short for it to reach its maximum potential.

@Multibagger Thank you very much. I have just bought an Amazon bill, somewhat belatedly. However, I actually went back and took a factor certificate instead of a KO certificate: UG4VD5 .

- almost 400% possible with MM0DFU? 19.12. over 390$ = 5$
1

@Iwamoto to get the 5$ at least 440$

@Multibagger I have just bought GV4RTE. Today was dividend ex day... I may have fallen for the oldest fallacy 😅

There's a lot of spice here at the moment, let's see how it ends. I actually think a lot of AMD and think the share price will recover quickly...
1
Imagen de perfil
@Migu11 The only question is whether the term is long enough. But I still have it and also bought a long derivative with KO yesterday. This is now up almost 60% after 24 hours due to leverage of 20.
@Multibagger nice. Hope we can reach 170 again.
Would possibly go long again but not with such high leverage...
1
Imagen de perfil
@Migu11 the leverage offered itself with a tight SL, as the 150$ mark is decisive for me on a closing price basis and has held so far.
Are you staying in? It's already doubled in such a short time...
Imagen de perfil
@Migu11 I'm thinking about taking half of it out and leaving the rest running. But I haven't decided yet. Normally that's my strategy after 100%. But in this case, there's another 200% on the starting price in a good 4 months. And that without the share having to move. It just has to stay above 170$. So I tend to hold. And at the moment I don't have anything better in sight that promises a similar return with the same C/R ratio.
Thanks for the info
