Hi folks,

I am currently planning to put some money into dividend stocks. These 5 companies are left for me in the end, as they still bring an "acceptable" dividend and is not too expensive. I will probably be saving in these monthly with a savings rate for 1 year. I am mainly concerned with the companies paying a good dividend, so the focus is not on "grow". The companies are not the typical "dividend aristocrats" so I am curious about your opinion. Do you have any suggestions for improvement or similar?

And At&T is apparently going to cut its dividend. If you are only interested in high dividend yields, At&T would no longer be suitable.

@tim1 I haven't noticed it yet, but I'll have a look at it in a minute. I agree with you about BAT, I hadn't thought that through to the end :/ Do you have an alternative for AT&T?

@JungAktien_Jannik I generally don't think much of these extremely high dividends. And I've never been a fan of At&T. It has too much debt for me and in my opinion there is little potential in it. I would only possibly buy BAT, as it is fundamentally well positioned, profits are rising and it will continue to smoke.

@tim1 I wasn't really a big dividend hunter before, but I've read more and more articles etc. and I'm a bit hooked. But I don't want to commit myself to just one company in terms of dividends so that I have some diversification. Have you ever heard of Swiss Re?

@JungAktien_Jannik I am familiar with it, but I would rather go for Hannover Re or Munich Re when it comes to reinsurance.

Instead of Altria, I would rather lean towards BAT. Do not focus only on the USA. Especially since active smokers are becoming fewer and fewer in the US, and in some emerging markets (where BAT is active) the numbers are even increasing, I think there is more to be said for BAT.

@JungAktien_Jannik Do you know how the company handles taxes? (Swiss company)

Are there any special regulations or anything you need to be aware of?

@SharkAce Not in my opinion, it is taxed as normal according to German law. It's the same with American companies.
There may be problems buying the security, at least that's the case with Nestle.

@JungAktien_Jannik then I'll probably start with something in Ferrexpo or Rio Tinto ^^ thank you 👍🏼
