@hero333 Because in the long term you would beat any of your own portfolios and ETFs were made precisely so that you don't have to do that. That's why someone gets up in the morning, wants to achieve financial freedom at the age of 32 and simply does it himself, pays a big spread when buying, realizes at some point what nonsense it is and then liquidates his positions to the tune of 15% of the portfolio value. Trade Republic is happy about the big margin and there is one more reason why Germans avoid the stock market and rely on Papa State for their pension.
