Get rid of it!

1 year with Paypal was definitely 1 year too many, back when it was all hype. In my opinion, Paypal has no future in the long term, competitors like Visa are simply too strong.

But which ones?

Do you have any candidates?

The market is on fire right now and I actually see waiting as a better option...

After all, you didn't sell at the low, but at the upward breakout? Waited 1 year to get out after a short harvest? That's no way to be successful on the stock market

@FresherAlman Let's see what the Americans do... I've heard 4 times in 1 year that the breakout is coming now... Looking back, it was all nothing and I don't feel like wasting my invested sum for another few months, I'd rather invest elsewhere

@Finanzente Just like that!
@FresherAlman So much for the outbreak
2
@Finanzente I did the same and feel 10 times better to finally have this stock out of my portfolio with a slight profit
3
@Hidalidsch look at the chart now, it was so clear
Imagen de perfil
@Finanzente Please do not just look at the 1-day chart.
@FresherAlman please take a look at the 1 year chart, it's always the same with Paypal and after 1 year that was ultimately my personal motivation. I could have put the money to better use elsewhere, or worse of course, but let's not assume that🫣

What nonsense. Since when have Visa and Paypal been competing? Absolutely pointless profit-taking far too early. At 90$ you could think about it, but not now.

@PowerWordChill Why not both? Otherwise it's absolutely stupid. Pay with PayPal, but save your credit card as a payment option with PayPal. If only because not every online store receives your credit card details this way.

I pay with PayPal or Amazon Pay wherever possible, so these are the only two companies I have to entrust with data. You also benefit twice from BNPL and buyer protection.
2
@Soprano I think that's very individual. However, the figures show that Visa is doing much better as a payment method. Just the option of depositing your credit card with Apple Pay and then making contactless payments is giving PayPal a hard time and I don't think they will be able to counteract this headwind in the near future either

@PowerWordChill Visa existed before PayPal, why did you pay with PayPal instead of Visa? I think a lot of people pay with PayPal just so they don't have to hand out their credit card everywhere on the Internet.

@Finanzente I have the issue of Apple Pay (which I also use) on my radar. But when I'm in LIDL, I don't ask myself whether it's Apple or PayPal, but Apple or my wallet. At the same time, I can only pay for my streaming subscriptions via PayPal and not via Apple.

Where are the use cases where I have to choose between Apple and PayPal?

Apart from that, I assume that the EU will force Apple to allow PayPal as a method for Apple Pay.

I only used Paypal for 10 years. For a good two years now, I've only used VISA.
Nobody in my circle of friends wants to have money transferred to their PayPal account any more ... instant bank transfer is quicker.

Because of 2FA, anyone can have my credit card details ... they won't be able to debit anything 👌

@Mike_Invest I don't know anyone who thinks like that and I can't think of any plausible reason why I would give someone my account number instead of an e-mail. If you transfer the wrong amount by bank transfer, you'll never get it back unless the recipient returns it voluntarily. But everyone as they like 🤷🏻‍♂️

selling now that it is picking up speed ....SOS
4
@port01_andy It's always the same people who, after a small rise in PayPal, think that it is now picking up speed. Take a look at the 1-year chart, there has been a lot of upward momentum and nothing has happened.

The stock market is not your thing. Get a proper mindset first and then start again

@Marius414 That's it. Just a "Reset" button on the broker. I'll have to submit this to Scalable's idea management.
@Marius414 good comment👍

@Memo0606 @Finanzente do you have an opinion on the stocks mentioned above?
@Memo0606 I haven't looked into it yet, but I'll have to do so in the near future. Thanks for the idea
@Memo0606 So $ROG looks attractive from a technical perspective. With $ULTA, however, I would say "never catch a falling knife" and keep my distance for the time being. I'd rather keep an eye on it $META
Imagen de perfil
@Finanzente find roche interesting yes
surprisingly, I also opted for aie products
@Memo0606 for what reason? Hoping for a turnaround?
Imagen de perfil
@Finanzente quality stock, good entry point, have no chemical stock in my portfolio had sold basf
and still thinking about roche ... whether I should get in
Imagen de perfil
@Finanzente thanks
he also says that it is worth buying

$V is my favorite

@walkinginmemphis How so? The option of depositing your Visa card with Apple Pay and making contactless payments is becoming increasingly popular. In my opinion, Paypal cannot withstand this pressure, as the 1-year chart shows

@Finanzente and also the declining number of Paypal users

Payments with Paypal have actually fit for a long time...

What does Visa have to do with PayPal?
@investorsapiens
A lot!

I used to only use Paypal. Whether paying on the internet, or splitting money with colleagues/friends after parties/meals.
The trend has been over for a good 2 years now. Everyone has instant bank transfer and you can pay with Apple pay/Google Wallet via Visa/Mastercard anyway.
In addition, many people are collecting miles and using credit card offers more and more.

Paypal will decline and find its niche.

Sold too early!

1 year is still nothing. You should have enjoyed the courses instead. The train will soon be leaving without you. So my tip would be Servicenow.

The question is always the same: Have your thoughts on investing/your investment case changed? Was there already (equally strong) competition from e.g. Visa a year ago? Or is the situation the same, only the share price has changed? Share prices are not rational (see Tesla figures BEFORE the China news was announced), they can only be evaluated in the long term
Imagen de perfil
I don't have PayPal equity but I do use their services and I can't imagine an alternative in the mid term at least
Imagen de perfil
$9618 I currently see this as a great opportunity
@dl_252 Yes, that's very interesting. Are you already invested? I just invested in Starbucks the other day.
1
Imagen de perfil
@Finanzente Yes, I am currently invested with 800 shares and a buy-in of 11.19. I also generally believe that it is a matter of time before the Chinese market recovers.
@dl_252 800 Stück😮‍💨😮‍💨 Stark, wish you a happy turnaround😂
