@Iwamoto Interestingly, I had this discussion the very day we visited Costco. What Costco needs is
- a large catchment area
- affluent customers
- no saturated market / edge over competitors
There are only a few countries in Europe that come into question and Germany is probably the last one. The competition from discounters is huge there. The closest I can see Costco getting is in Spain and Italy if they want to expand further.

@RealMichaelScott What are the arguments against Norway and Finland? There are also many regions with a limited selection of supermarkets, where it can sometimes make sense to stock up for weeks or even months.
In any case, I also see Germany as a very unattractive market for Costco. I've been invested for a long time myself and will probably hold on forever. I just don't know whether I'll add to it again.
