In Germany, many people get less than 2 to 5 years for murder and rape..... measured against that, it is a brutal punishment....

•@ad_absurdum Theoretically yes, but the interpretation of the word "intentional" is very borderline in German court proceedings. Just as a knife attack and multiple stabbings in the body are almost only charged as attempted murder in the case of death, otherwise only as assault and that is very lenient! I maintain that this is an extremely harsh verdict compared to German jurisdiction
