I just read Physical Silver and then saw the amount and thought about how big the trailer was that you took to the precious metal dealer of your choice ....🙃 Congratulations 👍🚀

@Dividendenopi Thank you!
Yes, that would have been a workout 😁 Physically I also have something, but only in quantities that fit under the pillow.

@BigMo I have the same position, but with a 20-30% lower entry.

Question: Unfortunately, the ETC is not tax-free after one year, is it?

@ichmussweg Congratulations! But the ETC is tax-free after one year.
Unfortunately, Scalable collected the tax directly from me, which may be due to the custody account transfer.
Perhaps they will correct this when I submit the purchase receipts, otherwise via the tax return.

@BigMo Where did you get the information from? In the past, I spent a long time looking into the subject and came to the conclusion that this ETC is not tax-free.

See:

Physical delivery: No

@ichmussweg 🤔 You're probably right about that... I once read about a case where the tax was refunded precisely at $PHAG because the ETC was classified under § 23 EStG.

Now I've annoyed Scalable with an email anyway 😅
Stupid thing to do... but at least that makes it easy!

@BigMo I would still try the tax. Then in 12 months

Maybe it will go through, but I don't think so.

It's exciting to know what the experience is like for others

@AxoWallStreet How good that Wisdomtree's stocks are in vaults in London and not in my apartment 😂

@AxoWallStreet Thanks for doing the math. I've already started and luckily read your post

Unfortunately, I only have it physically and I think that was a mistake. I've now had a look at what you get when you sell gold and silver.
The difference between buying and selling is really outrageous. You are literally forced to hold it

@Tobi60 On Gold.de, the selling price of an ounce of silver is 35% above spot and the buying price is 5% above spot.
Completely normal given the current demand. In addition, the selling price includes tax.
I would only sell physical holdings in an absolute emergency or for retirement.
Imagen de perfil
@Tobi60 I also recommend gold.de. If you have unlisted coins (e.g. collector coins), then this price comparison is also good

What a timing! Do you know more? 😂

@assistantregionalmanager If I knew more, I wouldn't have sold just 25% 😂
Imagen de perfil
@BigMo You have your portfolio open. öIf you say you have trimmed 25% of your silver position, that means your portfolio is worth around €3.5 million. Or have I failed the rule of three?
Imagen de perfil
@ichmussweg Yesterday 3.1, today only 2.95. 😐
The $PHAG sell point was good.
For the remaining gold/silver and mining positions, however, I am now waiting for the countermovement/confirmation of a trend break.
I was aware that exit timing would be difficult here.

@BigMo Everything is relative. But a daily fluctuation of €150k converted into my working hours is wild 🫣😅

But have you ever thought about living on dividends alone with that amount? At just under 3%, €105k gross should be €6.5k net after tax 👍

@AxoWallStreet I like dividends, but don't want to base my strategy entirely on them.
For retirement, it's also no problem to trade once a year according to a dynamic withdrawal rule and sell shares/ETF units.
But I'm still working for a few more years 😄
