Hail Bitcoin

Lars won't think of wanting to tax the boom retroactively, will he?

Right?

@DonkeyInvestor You can never know, but I don't think so either

@Alpalaka and if I do, I'll just hodl until I can comfortably bribe politicians with my Bitcoin so they'll undo it.

Oh, oops, of course I meant lobbying

Here in ösiland it was retroactive

@Niels19 but then you can at least sell everything before it comes into force and then buy new, right?

@Baluga Well, if they say on 01.07.2027, i.e. retroactively until 30.06.2026, crypto is taxable, then it will be difficult to sell tax-free.

Incidentally, tax evasion is time-barred :D

@Baluga Yes, of course. Only on the date of purchase you assumed that it would be tax-free 1 year later.

@Alpalaka That's exactly how it was with us

This will be more than problematic under constitutional law. All stocks that are older than 12 months are initially tax-free.

When the holding period was abolished in Austria, I think they did it retroactively for a year. 😘

@TotallyLost Otherwise, I exchange my wallet for gold at my trusted retailer

@Alpalaka Who doesn't know a good old OTC deal, keys for gold, in the back office of a kebab store that makes the worst kebab in town and that you've always wondered why it hasn't gone out of business yet.
The atmosphere is rounded off by an unidentifiable noise from the cold store that sounds like a Lebanese man's teeth being pulled... 😬
