High dividends is an actual option?

Hi guys, I was today intruduced to $ZIM (+1,06 %) with very high dividend payout and yield.

My question is... whats the catch here? 20-50% yield per year sounds too great ,

BUT

People are not buying it -> Price doesnt go up -> This leads to my question again, whats the catch here? why does everyone think this is a "fair" price and the yield is "fair"?

Are people chasing the big profit bursts of 100%+ valuation instead of stable income?

What are your though on dividends and also what other options with high dividends are there

The reason nobody is buying is that the dividend can be cut if the revenue is not ok or if there are any other circumstances within the company… and that was exactly the case even this year, dividend preddicted ca 50% and the reality is is maybe 5% for the current year

@PaFl $HAUTO $WAWI - offering growth potential with a good dividend history. However with shipping companies dividends are always questionable, therefore I choose the one which has a potential to offer growth as well if the dividend gets cut. Anyway norwegian companies, the country is full of lakes, water litterally everywhere, in Norway shipping companies are absolute necessity for every human beeing, many people use RoRo ships only to go shopping groceries🤣

@Miro_89 Thanks for the explanation. Withholding tax is keeping me away from Norwegian stocks a little.

@PaFl yeah thats true… but I just found something interesting, all shipping companies offer a relative high dividend yield… and what is the best way to have them all? Check $BOAT
