100k Milestone!

Now it's my turn: I unexpectedly and with great momentum broke the 100k€ mark! It was a long journey—6 years—and I hope the next 6 won't take as long.

@Psychedelic_Sunflower You could've split up your portfolio 😁
••

@Dirty30 I'll do that again sometime soon, but I think it'll bore you since there aren't any individual stocks in it 😅

@Psychedelic_Sunflower All right. I don't think it's that bad. There are so many strategies you can use to succeed.
••
@Dirty30 congratulations💪🏻, tomorrow, a nice, well-deserved dinner

Congratulations! And the question on everyone's mind: How does it feel?

@realarb Great! Even though it's just a number, it makes me feel like I'm taking charge of my own retirement planning and succeeding at it.

@asset_sage_smmad Why, are you a party member? 🤪

@Metis Nah, but they're not just going to sit back and watch this happen. They'll find some excuse—something about injustice or whatever—and try to take it away from us. Don't underestimate the socialists and their endless envy.

@asset_sage_smmad Oh, come on... as if the Social Democrats were still really that "social" these days...

When putting together a portfolio, anything is possible—from "in 3 months" to "never" 😅

@Wealth-Accelerator Haha, yeah, volatility can get pretty wild sometimes😅 At the end of July, I was down 7% YTD; six weeks later, I was up 13%.
Fingers crossed that option two doesn't come true😂

@Psychedelic_Sunflower I forgot to mention earlier that I’d like to offer you my heartfelt congratulations on reaching this milestone.
I was so blown away by your positions that I forgot.
I hope you hit 200k soon.
That wouldn’t be too bad for me either. I’ve got a good 50k in your top 4 positions as well.

@Alumdria Thanks :) As long as we're heading in the right direction, everything's fine for now👍

I just take a little longer than others. So it would have taken me about 6 to 7 years to reach the first 100k😅 I hope it’ll go faster for the next 100k😃
••
Imagen de perfil
@Alumdria Everyone just has different savings rates and investment strategies. But as long as the stock markets are on the rise, the 200k should add up faster than the first ones.

@Psychedelic_Sunflower Yeah, you're right—the market situation does affect the whole thing, too. I hadn't even considered that. Next year, there could even be a stock market crash where investors' portfolios suddenly plummet by 30 to 60% or so 😅 But honestly, I’d actually look forward to a real stock market crash like the one during the 2008 financial crisis, because then I could buy shares in quality companies at a bargain price. It’d be like Black Friday on the stock market, so to speak. I’m 32 years old now, and my investment strategy is “buy and hold,” just like Warren Buffett’s (with a few exceptions, like American Airlines and Nio).

100k in 6 years is pretty awesome. Most people don't manage that in their whole lives. It's really a strange bubble here.
••

@Marcie Yes, definitely! But whether something is fast or slow always depends on your goal. If I want to keep working for at least another 35 years and retire at the standard age, then by my early 30s I’ve probably already gone way past my goal.
If, on the other hand, I want to drastically cut back on my hours in 15 years—or perhaps not have to rely on paid work at all—then I’ll have to keep pushing myself.
But of course, those are luxury concerns.
••
@Marcie The posts here are really weird sometimes. Millionaires in their 30s who use phrases like “a savings rate of ‘only’” or “an income of ‘only’.” Even with 100k, some of them are already in their early 20s.
••
It would be nice if it weren't so distorted by cases like that and were more realistic :D

@LelouchLalouch What do you think is realistic in a financial bubble?
This is where you find the people who are interested in it, who were exposed to it early on at home, and so on. Since about 20% of the German population invests in the stock market at all, this bubble alone is anything but average. And there are also an increasing number of young people who are starting to invest early on.
That means you can “quickly” accumulate amounts that others perceive as unrealistic.
••
Congrats!!
