Insurance brings decking boards

Summer is coming and as I finally need a terrace on the house, Munich Re is paying part of my material costs. So this time I'm going to spend the money completely irresponsibly instead of reinvesting it. I'll think about the missed investment opportunities when I open the first beer on the terrace.

Investing in your well-being, your home 😊 The German tax office often has larger inflows of tax revenue in May 😂 Have fun doing crafts!

I was also pleased with my dividend 🥳 You can always buy more in the summer.

And Germany only steals 26,375% from you!

@NichtRelevant I don't know how you guys put up with it.
Many good german companies that I would like to invest in... I'm just not a big fan of being robbed!
If they take away 26,375% (Germany) + 19% (Spain) out of every dividend... It's MY money working for THEM, rather than ME! Even if I can later get a portion back, 30% is still way too much!

@profit_mogul_emknk It always depends on the individual situation and where you are registered taxwise. I have no idea how the german state robs off foreigners - I only experience how they rob off their own citizens (the tax burden is heavy).

Some countries have double taxation avoidance treaties, but most of the time filing documents to get some euros back at the end of the fiscal year is a real pain. When I invest abroad I try to invest in companies, where there is no taxation of dividends at the source. The United Kingdom is good in that regard. Many companies in Scandinavia have great dividend stocks but the taxation at the source is enormous. I want to say: I know the problem. The state wants to grab everything it can.
