Profit taking no. 2

After selling half of my portfolio at 200% plus (which was stupid from today's perspective), I have just sold half of my current portfolio again, at just over 2000% plus. Unfortunately, it won't go on like this! 😂

@Sansebastian Very old school at 200% plus half sold, i.e. from then on there was virtually "no more own money" in it...

Rheinmetall - Why a sale now could (still) be too early

I am increasingly reading that some investors are considering selling their Rheinmetall shares as they have already performed strongly.
This is understandable given the +300 % performance in recent years - but in my opinion a hasty exit would be a strategic mistake. Here are a few reasons:

⸝

1. the arms boom is not over - it is just beginning
- The demand for armaments has increased structurally due to the security policy situation, and not just in the short term.
- Rheinmetall is benefiting from massive orders from Germany, the EU and NATO, among others - e.g. through the 100 billion euro Bundeswehr special fund.
- New markets (e.g. Australia, Eastern Europe) are being strategically developed.

⸝

2. sales and profit growth are no coincidence
- Turnover growth 2023: +17 %
- EBIT margin stable at over 11%
- Dividend increases in step with company growth
→ Operational strength is not just geopolitical hype, but also industrially earned

⸝

📈 3. technical chart: no real exaggeration
- Despite the strong rise, the valuation is not astronomical:
→ P/E ratio 2025e is around 15-17 according to estimates
- The chart shows a healthy consolidation - no classic "hype blow-off"

⸝

4. future fields such as cybersecurity and AI are still to come
- Rheinmetall is making targeted investments in digital technologies and AI-supported systems
- There is also enormous potential in the area of autonomous weapon systems and sensor technology, which has hardly been priced in by the market yet

⸝

Why I wouldn't sell now:
- Selling now means realizing book profits, but possibly foregoing several years of growth
- Selling solid shares with a tailwind just "because they have done well" is often a psychological trap
- It is better to hedge with a stop loss or make partial sales instead of saying goodbye completely

⸝

Conclusion:

Rheinmetall is currently not an overheated hype stock, but a structurally growing industrial company operating in a political environment that has changed massively.

My personal opinion: I am holding the position.
I will only consider selling if growth slows down or the valuation gets out of hand.

I will continue to invest via a savings plan.

@BullBear_Boutique Haha, thanks - if it sounds like ChatGPT, it's probably just well structured.
I just prefer to rely on modern tools and clean arguments instead of regulars' slogans with zero research.

But hey - while you're still thinking about who wrote the text, others are already making a profit with Rheinmetall.

@Ozzel Don't feel so offended!

@BullBear_Boutique All good - don't feel offended at all.
I just wanted to make it clear that I've been thinking about whether or not to use AI support.
I'm here more for the exchange, not for turf wars.

...and if it sounds like ChatGPT, I'll take it as a compliment - it often sounds better than some analyst texts. 🫶

@Ozzel Someone has to buy the parts from him! That's why there are always two opinions on the stock market.

Wait, you sell Rheinmetall for 73k and still have 5% of your assets in the... how rich are you????
••
@Investingyoung You can now calculate it pretty accurately. 😊

Rheinmetall was karma, I had invested a lot in Russian shares because I was sure Putin wouldn't be stupid enough to start a war. At the same time I bought "a few" Rheinmetall shares because I thought we would rearm anyway.
The whole thing is paying off now.
I'm a bit on the plus side with this number.
I'm just annoyed that I gave this bum money.

Holy mackerel. That's a chunk👌

@Maximilian_GHG Yep, you have to imagine, the purchase price was €67!!!

Strong. Many international people will die because of your investment, especially at 2,000% plus. How do you finance their graves? I am invested in $WM and $LAT1V.

Congratulations on realizing the profits in Germany.
