A few months ago, I also pointed out in a comment that Xpeng $9868 (-1,4Â %) and $XPEV (-1,51Â %) could offer its technology to other foreign automakers beyond Volkswagen. Now the time has come, and Xpeng has already contacted potential partners. No names have been mentioned yet. But it seems that the path to profitability is now open. Licensing fees and the like will certainly help.
The offering is said to include electrical and electronic architectures, cockpit systems, Turing AI chips, driver-assistance software, robotaxi solutions, as well as robotics and other technologies for physical AI.
In the second quarter, revenue from services and other activities nearly doubled, while the segment margin rose from 53.6% a year ago to 75.1%; Xpeng has formed its own marketing team to pursue further technology partnerships.
