$BNTX (+0,99 %) Jeffries has raised the price targets for BioNTech today 😀

The share price has suffered recently, but with a weekly balance of +37% and a monthly balance of +47%, it is heading in the right direction again🚀

The target price adjustment reflects the potential that BioNTech's ongoing research and development activities could have for the company's future prospects.

BioNTech's strategy is to prioritize chemotherapy combinations before exploring antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) combinations. To this end, the company has initiated global Phase 2 trials of BNT327 in combination with chemotherapy for breast cancer (BC) and small cell lung cancer (SCLC). In addition, BioNTech plans to complete a first-line study in lung cancer.

Biontech is aiming for first market approval for a cancer drug in 2026, after which annual market approvals in oncology are planned.

I've been in here since 2020, at times with over 400% and then back to the starting point 😅. I missed the exit back then and since then I've been keeping my fingers crossed that BioNTech manages to beat cancer. A good share price would then be almost secondary. But so far it remains more of a dream ;)

@investorsapiens I've also been in for a long time. I got out shortly after the ATH, but then got back in too early. But now back in the black again thanks to additional purchases and last month's performance.
BioNTech is a long-term investment for me, I am convinced that the mRNA technology will be a game changer in cancer therapy.

@investorsapiens Assuming that cancer can only be cured by taking medication, that would be a great thing. The number two cause of death in Germany is cancer. I'm just wondering what massive problems we'll face if the number two cause of death suddenly disappears. Overpopulation, pensions, etc...
The consequences of curing cancer would be a catastrophe, wouldn't it?
I hope nobody takes this the wrong way, sorry about that

@Tobi60 Many diseases that are curable today used to be fatal. Those who can be cured do not incur any treatment costs and can take care of themselves / work etc.

@investorsapiens Yes, if you assume people under 65, that's true.
I just thought that life expectancy would rise to 95 rather than 85 and that's where the problems would come from
@Tobi60 really funny way of thinking 😅 as if laws like pensions etc. could not be adapted? Can't be adapted to the situation in the country?

@Tobi60 Due to medical progress, industrialization and many other factors, life expectancy is constantly increasing and is of course a challenge, especially as long as the current retirement age is maintained. The current retirement age dates back to times when life expectancy was much lower.

You only need to compare average working lives with retirement lives to realize that the old models cannot continue to work forever. But this "challenge" has to be solved by politicians and society in general. In return, of course, the burden on the healthcare system will be massively reduced if there are better chances of curing cancer.

In other words, this is just another small building block for a longer life expectancy alongside many other factors. We can count ourselves lucky to live in an age and a region where we can enjoy our lives for many long years, because we all only have "one" of them...

@investorsapiens Same, Tim. I'm really annoyed. Even with a relatively small position. At times I think I was up around € 3500... I didn't realize it, but at least I learned a lot from the share.

@ThyMax I'm not really annoyed. Of course I would have realized the profit if I had known that it would then fall again from almost 380 euros to 70 euros. But if I were in the same situation again today, I would probably have stayed in again. It was a special situation with state-backed contracts worth billions. I still remember some media reports from "whistleblowers" about patent infringements and the threat of legal proceedings, which all fizzled out but had a major impact on the share price at the time, and the war, which pushed the pandemic into the background and ended it almost overnight. It's just the way it is, that's the stock market. But I haven't sold yet because BioNTech has a bigger target. If it works out, it will have been worth the wait, if not... Tough luck, it's just one share of many in the portfolio. Life goes on ;)

@ThyMax This is the reason why I have long since abandoned the buy and hold approach to shares. Once I'm well up, I always set an SL or trailing SL, sometimes tighter - sometimes wider, depending on the case.
Of course, there are always times when you get stopped out and the share immediately rises again, but in retrospect these are rather rare cases. And if this is the case, you can get back in if the conditions are right. From a risk management point of view, it is better to leave a few yours on the way up than to see all the nice profits melt away.

@TomTurboInvest absolutely, that's really a general problem of mine. And it's one thing to believe in other companies, the other is that unrealized profits don't bring you anything at all. That's why we now simply prefer stocks with healthy growth, such as Microsoft.
