The US small cap Farmer Mac is the only one of the government-sponsored mortgage banks (Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae, Sallie Mae) that has survived the financial crisis resulting from the US mortgage crisis well from an investor's point of view. Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae were delisted; Sallie Mae (SLM Corporation) pays a dividend that is almost 66% lower than in 2007. Farmer Mac, on the other hand, did not have to be delisted after a bailout by the Farm Credit System and was able to raise its dividend back to pre-crisis levels from 2012. Farmer Mac has increased its dividend by more than 10% every year since 2012. The profits of the institution, which specializes in agency MBS in the agricultural sector, have also risen continuously in recent years, which is why this company now enriches my Dividend Hyper-Growth portfolio.
