57Visa, American Express Bidding to Win Apple Credit-Card Network
Visa has made Apple an offer of around 100 million dollars to secure the Apple Card. The background to this is that Goldman Sachs is withdrawing from the consumer credit business and the card will be reissued. In addition to Visa also fight American Express and Mastercard for the role of card network. Visa has made an aggressive offer, while American Express is competing as both issuer and network. Mastercard wants to retain its position as a network. The deal would be the end of Goldman's Goldman's failed attempt in the consumer credit business, which Apple which is worth around 20 billion dollars.

$CSPX (-4,06 %)
$GOOGL (-1,11 %)
$AXP (-3,92 %) and $MA (-4,48 %) 💰
For the time being, I took some winnings from $RHM (-4,69 %) 🙏🏻
Week 1 - "press play to start"
In January I decided to set up a dividend portfolio for myself. I immediately used the setback in February to end my one-year "test phase" as a stock market novice and start my long-term plan. In addition to two dividend-paying ETFs for retirement provision $XDWL (-4,25 %) & $XSX7 (-5,5 %) I want to build up a strong portfolio through stable dividend stocks, regular purchases and reinvestment of dividends.
I would like to take you with me on my journey and now share regular updates on the development of my portfolio.
You can find my goals and how I want to achieve them in my first post → My path to financial freedom: I'm building a dividend portfolio - goals & strategy 📈💰
📊 My current dividend portfolio (sorted by market capitalization):
1️⃣ $SAP (-3,96 %) - Europe's largest software group with a stable dividend policy
2️⃣ $BAC (-6,91 %) - One of the largest US banks with a solid payout
3️⃣ $AXP (-3,92 %) - Strong brand with long-term potential
4️⃣ $ALV (-6,02 %) - High dividend yield & strong financials
5️⃣ $DB1 (-7,75 %) - Benefits from rising trading volumes
6️⃣ $BATS (-3,24 %) - High dividend yield & stable cash flow
7️⃣ $MO (-1,41 %) - Continuous dividend increases, but regulatory risks
8️⃣ $O (-0,87 %) - The famous "Monthly Dividend Company" REIT
9️⃣ $INGA (-7,74 %) - European bank with attractive dividend yield
I start my journey with these 9 stocks. All of them convince me and are stable stocks. I'm not doing anything here for no reason. That's why there's a good reason for every stock I buy.
If you would like to know why I chose one of the stocks, let's discuss it in the comments. I look forward to the exchange! 😊
I wish you a good start to the weekend!

Warren Buffett praises US equities and Japan investments
Warren Buffett remains a heavyweight on the stock market. In his latest letter to Berkshire Hathaway shareholders, he emphasizes the importance of his US holdings and shows interest in Japan. 💼
Buffett emphasizes that Berkshire holds shares in large, profitable companies such as Apple $AAPL (-4,5 %)American Express $AXP (-3,92 %), Coca-Cola $KO (-2,73 %) and Moody's $MCO (-6,5 %) . These companies generate high returns on the capital invested. At the end of the year, these investments were worth a total of USD 272 billion.
One exciting point is his strategy of buying shares when others are selling. Buffett emphasizes that it is rare for exceptional companies to be completely for sale. But fractions of these "treasures" can be bought on Wall Street from Monday to Friday.
With regard to Japan, Berkshire has increased its investments in this market. This shows that Buffett is also taking advantage of international opportunities to diversify his portfolio. Berkshire's current cash position is an impressive USD 334 billion. This means that Buffett remains one of the most influential investors in the world.

BTIG über Sofi’s (Galileo) entrance into the co-brand space
$WH (-2,88 %)
$AXP (-3,92 %)
$AFRM (-13,01 %)
$BFH (-5,92 %)
$DAL (-4,98 %)
BTIG reiterated $SOFI (-10,5 %) Neutral, says "we think $SOFI (-10,5 %) shares being up 5% on this news is fair"
$SOFI (-10,5 %) entrance into the co-brand space is a very interesting development, and winning one of the largest global hotel brand chains hints at what could potentially be a very large market for SoFi's growth.
The debit-card angle is also unique, in our view, with most of the other competitors only offering rewards and loyalty funded via credit card interchange fees.
For the rest of our coverage group, we think $SOFI (-10,5 %) entrance into the space is a negative on $AXP (-3,92 %) (AXP, Sell, $272), $AFRM (-13,01 %) (AFRM, Buy, $81), $BFH (-5,92 %) (BFH, Neutral) and Synchrony (SYF, Neutral).
While we don't think $SOFI (-10,5 %) ’s entrance will have a material near-term impact on these competitors, it does add a potentially sizable player into a market that is already biased toward merchant pricing power.
For instance, we've noted several times in the past that American Express appears to be paying Delta Airlines (DAL, Not Rated) at a faster growth rate compared to the growth of the premium traveler
spend on their co-brand card.
We expect the Wyndham win will be a topic of conversation when we host CEO Anthony Noto for
investor meetings in Boston on February 18."
Who is BTIG and why is SoFi meeting with them on Wednesday?
BTIG is a global financial services firm specializing in investment banking, institutional trading, research, and related brokerage services. According to recent information, SoFi Technologies, Inc. is scheduled to meet with BTIG on February 18, 2025. This meeting could be significant for several reasons:
1. **Investment and Analysis**: BTIG is known for its research and analysis capabilities. They have previously initiated coverage on SoFi with a Buy rating, which suggests they see potential in SoFi's growth or strategic direction. This meeting could involve discussions about SoFi's performance, future plans, or specific investment opportunities.
2. **Strategic Guidance**: Investment banks like BTIG often provide strategic advice to companies like SoFi. They might be discussing potential mergers, acquisitions, or strategic partnerships that could enhance SoFi's market position or expand its service offerings.
3. **Capital Markets Activities**: SoFi could be exploring capital raising activities, like issuing new equity or debt, where BTIG could assist in underwriting or advising on the structure and timing of such transactions, especially considering SoFi's growth trajectory and its need for capital to fund expansion.
4. **Market Sentiment and Positioning**: The meeting might also aim at understanding current market sentiment towards SoFi, especially given BTIG's previous positive outlook on the company. This could help SoFi in fine-tuning its investor relations strategy or preparing for upcoming financial disclosures or events.
5. **Networking and Relationships**: Given that BTIG is partially owned by Goldman Sachs, and considering past connections like SoFi's CEO Anthony Noto's history with Goldman, the meeting could also reinforce business relationships or explore new avenues for collaboration or investment.
In summary, SoFi's meeting with BTIG likely focuses on strategic discussions, investment opportunities, market positioning, and strengthening business relationships, all of which are crucial for a company looking to navigate the financial markets effectively.
Sofi (Galileo) - WYNDHAM Hotels & Resorts
Galileo secures a major partnership with Wyndham Hotels, which has 114 million members worldwide! This is a great success for $SOFI (-10,5 %) & Galileo, extending its reach in the hospitality industry.
Wyndham is the second largest hotel chain in the world (after Jin Jiang) and the largest in North America in terms of number of hotels (although their revenue is lower than other chains).
Geoffrey A. Ballotti
CEO, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts:

Uber position opened
Since I have been toying with the idea of $VICI (-1,36 %) out of the portfolio and replace it with $UBER (-5,6 %) I finally made the trade today. The fact that Bill Ackman has now also built up a larger Uber position has reinforced my analysis.
I think the future for Uber as an aggregator in the transportation and delivery service sector is greener than it is estimated today and I do not believe that self-driving cars (Waymo, Tesla) will permanently weaken Uber's business and platform.
I have also trimmed my $AXP (-3,92 %) trimmed my position and invested the capital in Uber.
