Pinterest is an online pinboard for graphics and photographs with an optional social network including a visual search engine.

Pinterest has been posting steady revenue growth of c.a 50% for several years and is therefore also solidly valued. A P/E of 71 a Kuv of 10. I think Pinterest has a good future ahead (little debt and nice cash flow) with strong growth potential. However, for me the stock is still a bit too expensive at the moment... at $30 I will take a position. What is your opinion, is it worth to get into "the little Facebook" in the long run? Merry Christmas 🎄

Pinterest is an exciting platform. It is not a classic social network, but rather functions as a kind of inspiration platform for users with purchasing intentions. Even though Pinterest cannot yet compete with the big players, the monthly active users have steadily increased (unfortunately now pandemic losses, but I suspect this is temporary). However, Pinterest would still have to work urgently on its offer for businesses. The ad section is a super addition, but definitely can't keep up with Facebook & Co. I still see potential here. All in all, not an investment for me at the moment, but I like to use it privately.

I don't understand the platform. What is the difference to Google Image Search?

@Konsum On the one hand, there is the visual aspect. You can pin images to your own pinboards and organize them by topic. Pinterest also shows you similar search results, so if you want to be inspired. With Google, you often already know exactly what you are looking for.

Perhaps they will be taken over again at some point

The site just bothers me when I search for images on Google.

You are constantly asked to log in 😒

@Fan You've already found your competitive advantage.

@Frank_Thelen just because you don't use it yourself doesn't mean the stock is bad. I personally don't use it either... but apparently the number of users is increasing anyway 🚀

@Stonksman1 I wouldn't deny the value of pinterest, but I don't understand it either and then I wouldn't put any money into it.

@Frank_Thelen When I'm looking for gift ideas, I often use Pinterest, just as an example. Btw, you're not the real @Frank_Thelen are you?

@Frank_Thelen Good marketing and a reason for Alphabet as they are paid by Pinterest for exactly that ;-)

@JungundAktionaer The only thing that bothers me is that Pinterest has recently stopped growing in terms of users. And no, that's not why I haven't taken a position yet.
I'll see how it develops now, even from a chart analysis it doesn't look good at the moment
