Depot Roast/ Invest decision

Hello dear community,

I recently came into €20,000, which I would now like to invest. My goal is to build up a BTC holding of 0.25 by the end of 2026. Now the question is whether I should invest the €20,000 directly and $BTC (-1.29%) or whether I should let the target run via the normal savings plans and use the €20,000 for another investment such as $IWDA (+0.55%) use.

A few more details:

  • Age: 27
  • Monthly savings plans: 3000€
  • Investment horizon: Until 2050, then early retirement
  • The portfolio will contain $PUM (+5.16%) and $DX2D (+1.46%) still sold
  • I am aware that there are overlaps, but this has to do with the fact that I have divided my portfolio into retirement provision and house purchase. In the respective sub-custody accounts, one is the $VWRL (+0.95%) and once the $IWDA (+0.55%) in it.

Thank you very much in advance!

So respect, a monthly savings rate of €3,000 is enormous. I'd like that too, but unfortunately it doesn't fit in with my net income. 🤷‍♂️

I also have to say that it includes my partner's savings rate 😊

@Cato_Bamboo I can only agree. An enormously high sum. You'll probably retire sooner.

@KekZzss Despite the combined savings rate, the sum is great.

Personally, I would put the 20k on the market at 90k.

@Aktienorang-Utan I have considered going in via limit buys. 5k at 100,000$, 10k at 90,000$ and 5k at 85,000$

@KekZzss also a good idea 👍🏻

If I were you, I wouldn't immediately put the entire 20 K into BTC. From my point of view, I would do this in the bear market that is likely to come next year, as you will then be better able to achieve your goal by the end of 2026.

Respect for your current assets and congratulations on your 3 k savings rate per month. That's awesome. I don't even earn that much

Q3 Buy Bitcoin ($92k-96k)

@Ph1l1pp more likely next year in crypto winter

@Steve91 If you want to miss the Q4 rally, you can do so.

@Ph1l1pp For trading, yes, you're right. For the long term, I would wait. But everyone has to decide that for themselves 😊
profile image
@Steve91 @Ph1l1ppwhy are you so sure that Q4 will be a rally and next year it will go down? There is a cycle ok, understood.... but for what reasons?

Is there any event that I don't see coming?

@Pazi3 The last few cycles always ended with a hype phase, which resulted in the high prices being sold off and the crypto winter setting in. Nobody really knows whether this will happen this time, as big players like black rock are now in the game.

@Pazi3 I don't believe in the "cycle" or any cycle theory, as both have already been invalidated. It's much better to think in terms of high-risk and low-risk phases. Furthermore, I will not pretend to know that retail (as we have seen it in 2021) is coming back, as this requires a very big catalyst. Rather, I think retail will favor AI and hype stocks over crypto.

But here's part of why I'm bullish Q4:

Average quarterly returns over the last 10 years:
Q1 - 18.7%
Q2 - 29.6%
Q3 - 6.6%
Q4 - 57.4%

Added to this are interest rate cuts and QE.

@Ph1l1pp Would you then realize profits in Q4? Or let it run anyway?

@Pazi3 I can't tell you that yet, but I'm leaning towards it. At the very least, I will then switch back to long BTC/short altcoins.
