@Simpson asked me, presumably as a joke, to sell my ETF and switch into Bitcoin. That cost me a sleepless night. But after I'd actually been toying with the idea for a while (also thanks to @stefan_21 ), I did it 😳. At least the first step. I sold my entire $VWRL (+0.17%) sold my entire position. As soon as the money is in the account, it will go to a crypto exchange and be put into Bitcoin.

As I haven't bought any Bitcoin for a while: Which exchange do you recommend? I will buy approx. 1 $BTC (+0.09%) and have accounts with Bison, Binance and Kraken. I don't want to open an additional account.

@DonkeyInvestor I can understand that argument

@GoDividend They screwed it up themselves. But the other ETFs will follow

@DonkeyInvestor is probably only reserved for the elite with the sweater ...

The scary thing is that you never really know whether this is true or not.
If it is: brave move. I wish you completely selfishly that bitcoin first goes down to 1%, say for 6 months, and then reaches unimagined heights. If not: lol

@SchlaubiSchlumpf I am a donkey on the Internet and therefore, by definition, totally trustworthy

@DonkeyInvestor ok then I'll probably sell my ETF and buy Bitcoin too. It'll be better for my real estate financing next year anyway. (Ok, that last sentence was nonsense... I'm a serious smurf).
2
profile image
@DonkeyInvestor oh I just realized, the first sentence was nonsense. I'm not selling my etfs because some jackass *hihi* is doing it

@SchlaubiSchlumpf your mistake

@DonkeyInvestor What can I do. That's just me... You also have to look at the person around the eggs

Congratulations on the decision😘
Not many people can buy a whole Bitcoin just like that anymore😂

I wouldn't use Bison because of their spread :) I think Binance would be a little cheaper than Kraken in terms of fees, so I would tend towards it.

@stefan_21 You don't seriously believe that... as if he would buy bitcoin at 100 k now... HAHAH never!

@Testo-Investor What makes you doubt Satoshi Nakamoto's credibility?

@stefan_21 because it's a troll account, maybe that's why.... 😂🚨🚨🚨

Faaaaake, you would never do that

@Fabzy 1. the Bitcoin from Mt.Gox was added on top of your remaining BTC and you were already at a point where you expanded the AllWorld to have a reasonable base. Adding another Bitcoin for 100k is not your strategy.
2. you don't throw away what you've built up 3 years ago because of one sleepless night
3. you mess up your BTC performance and have to correct your previous posts, then it's no longer 27000%, but only 12000%. Your ego won't stand for that.
--> Fake

@Fabzy too bad. I had hoped it wouldn't come to light so quickly 🥹. But you just know me too well. You donkey fanboy

Eieiei. Are you trying to avoid the free beer from @Charmin and me?
But respect my friend. I always thought my balls were hard, but yours must be even harder.

@Hotte1909 that's more the way I have to buy you free beer. Don't have to buy free beer. must buy free beer. Don't have to buy free beer ...

@DonkeyInvestor Did I hear free beer here?

@Hotte1909 yes and no

@DonkeyInvestor I'll have to read up on Schrödinger again ...

@Charmin Is he already dead?

@DonkeyInvestor I haven't looked yet. I don't think so.

As I can see from Stefan's public portfolio, he is also moving away from the "Bitcoin only" strategy.

@-Richard- big mistake

@DonkeyInvestor probably so, but that's how risk diversification works. Hats off to your courage!

Kraken has OTC trading with hardly any fees and a very fair spread for institutional trading.

Actually from 500k, but you can certainly make an inquiry. 😊
2
profile image
@GeldGenie oha, then I'll just have to sell the other ETFs as well

I have been working with Binance for years and am very satisfied :)

Oh man, Testoinvestor will be happy about that. At first I thought I'd give you a few coins, but you've got more than enough. Keep your fingers crossed. What are you going to do with the rest that's left over after you've given the tax office a pre-Christmas present?

I buy from Kraken, I can only recommend it. If you deposit more than €10,000, it will be blocked until the proof of intermediary origin is fulfilled, so take that into account.

Good Morning. I have a few questions 😌 (if the trade is meant seriously)
1. was the $VWRL your core in the portfolio?

2. $BTC has the highest weighting for you now and then an even higher one. What gives you the confidence that you feel comfortable with such a high BTC weighting and even liquidate the VWRL for it?

3. do you see less risk in BTC than in the ETF?

What about taxation? I am actually a big advocate of non-BaFin-regulated exchanges such as Binance, but in your case the risk of the money being frozen would be too high. I would therefore choose a German exchange, taking the fees into account. And definitely not coinbase, where a lot of accounts have recently been blocked and the money on them frozen.

Balls of Steel, I would only do something like that if my portfolio is in millions.
$VWRL is something that I would never touch. It would be best if you also considered the tax implications. But now it's done. BTW long term I think BTC will shit on all the World ETFs.

I also switched just under 6 figures into Bitcoin at the peak in March and am up almost 45k today. However, if I were you, I would invest the money in tranches. It wasn't easy to only see red for half a year, with -30k in some cases.

Good grief!

I wish you every success and nerves of steel along the way. For me, 61 percent of my PF in BTC would not be an option.

If you decide otherwise, then use an MSCI next time. I buy BTC at coinbase with the free one subscription (always subscribe and cancel immediately) or Strike.
