🦍 🆘

Dear Community,

We have received repeated requests regarding the emojis, which is why we will be revising them again at the end of the year. We will probably remove 🦍 & 🆘, simply because we stand for a positive exchange here and everyone who makes the effort to create content should not be confronted with negative reactions, and even if there are of course different opinions and questions that are repeated, this should not be punished with negative reactions. Please share your thoughts transparently and also whether we should add other emoji reactions instead 👇

🆘 - Keep comment

@Herdd I'm confused, if I want to keep 🆘 do I have to respond to the comment with 🆘 or with 👍 🤓

An open exchange also includes negative views and opinions.

@cashmitkopf In addition, the comments would then simply be slapped with sos
1
profile image
@cashmitkopf That's true, but you can also express this in the comments. A flat SOS doesn't help the community. Constructive, critical comments, on the other hand, do.

@christian if I now only comment SOS underneath ? I would just leave the emojis and maybe add 2 more

I don't think that's good... Of course the exchange should be positive, but a 🆘 isn't bad either. We're not talking about body positvity or anything like that here, but about investments. And bad ideas should be able to be labeled as such. Alternatively, maybe bull and bear? Then such posts will just get a bear.

@gamlasvensk A purely bad reaction does not help the community at first. Constructive criticism does. You can also express other views in the comments.
profile image
@christian But an SOS or a bear, for example, are already exchange and interaction... If we as users are supposed to write a comment every time there's a scammer on here or someone posts nonsense, I can already say that won't happen. Perhaps it will lead to less interaction in the forum. And the likes on the comments speak a clear language. As I suggested, take SOS out and bull/bear in. Then I can express my reaction to baerish. If you don't give the opportunity for such a reaction, then you might as well stop the reactions altogether. What's the point of reactions if they can only be positive. And to your first sentence, how does a purely positive reaction help the community?

@christian Addendum: The same applies to the surveys. Here I can select a value without giving a reason. Is that an added value?

I think it's good. However, there should be at least one "bad" emoji in case someone really posts junk...😁

I've often needed an eye roll emoji. It's not as negative as SOS. 🙄

SOS should be retained. There are certainly some posts here that trigger such a (justified) reaction.
12
profile image
Too bad. Does that mean that in future I won't be able to tell from the reactions whether my post or comment was bad? I don't care about the comments anymore. I'm not a troll, but I try to see the whole thing in a positive light. The more reactions, whether positive or negative, the higher my comment will be displayed. 😂

This is hated just as much as the abolition of the dislike...

Find 🆘, can go away. If you disagree and just leave a 🆘, it doesn't contribute to the community.
8
profile image
@Pezi but this applies to all smileys
2
profile image
@NiMe I see it differently. You don't have to write the same thing again at 👍🏼 😏 I just notice that a lot of people just leave a 🆘, there's no discussion and that's what a community is for. If you have a different opinion, you should express it and not just react with an 🆘. The 🆘 makes it too easy for those who don't contribute anything anyway...
profile image
But 🦍it's not a bad thing, it's more of a community together strong Instead of SOS thumbs down sometimes you can't approve of everything here And the 🍿needs it for exciting topics
7
profile image
@Koenigmidas "Exciting topics" aka stress among users 😂
2
profile image
🆘 can go away. It's also often the case that the emote is simply used, but you don't get any input as to why it deserves an SOS. Just often annoying
5
profile image
@Carlooooo do you also get the input for the other smiles?
2
profile image
@NiMe You don't necessarily have to, because I realize that you support this opinion. But if you have a different opinion, it would be good to make this clear so that you understand the opposing position
profile image
Everyone can and should have their own opinion. But hate and pointless SOS spam is often not an opinion, but ideology. It starts with the harmless ETF/individual share opinion war that some people have to fight without being asked. Along the lines of everyone who buys shares has no idea, because the only real thing is ETFs. It goes on about some offended Dubai Flo ex-wives who have nothing better to do than curse every share they own. And goes on about other topics such as chart analysis etc.pp. So the idea of at least removing the toxicity from the emojis is certainly not a bad idea. Anyone who creates content and is confronted with such behavior naturally wonders why they should take the time and make the effort to create content. After all, content creation here is voluntary and lives solely from the will to share and exchange ideas. In the end, it will lead to the posts becoming one-sided and devoid of content.

@investorsapiens I like it when the left-wing twisted ideologues make themselves known via SOS 🆘. 😅
profile image
@MilfHunterson 🆘 It can just be a joke, but often there's a real cramp behind it. Some people see it as their calling to go on a specific stock ticker and fill every comment and every post. It's almost a religion. It may not matter for a comment, but if there is real work behind a post, you ask yourself twice whether you are doing it to yourself. In the end, it also harms the post, a post with an SOS is perceived and read less trustworthy.

Hey, I recently received a lot of negative SOS and found it more than amusing. Some users really get off when they can press the red button and show their attitude! Please make sure you leave those things in!

@Kundenservice ahh Thank you. Good, you could leave it in my opinion. 🦍😀

@Kundenservice I find the monkey the most misleading and superfluous of all emojis. It is either used incorrectly or misunderstood. What does a monkey have to do with joint strength? Somehow it doesn't make sense.

Are you familiar with the euphemistic treadmill? A placeholder will always establish itself and prevail in the long term. Negative remains negative, no matter how you label it.

How wonderful, a Montessori forum... finally no more pressure to perform when posting. Vote for 🦄 - I support the suggestion of @RealMichaelScott.

So I think a person who creates content should receive both positive and negative criticism. The argument that leaving an SOS is of no use to the community as a whole is invalid when you consider that these are emojis. A 👍 doesn't really help the community either. A comment, on the other hand, is an opportunity to express your displeasure in words. In addition, the emoji, just like any other, fulfils its task of signalling to the potential reader whether the post is good or bad. The idea of deleting these two emojis is incomprehensible to me. If this is intended to protect the feelings of the contributors, I wonder whether the author is even suitable as such. How is he supposed to reflect on his opinion, revise his content or his way of arguing if no one gives him a signal: "Hey your post is 🆘" A community thrives on discussing and talking about controversial opinions. Why ban everything that serves just such a purpose. It can signal to both the reader and the author at a glance: "Controversial topic - think about your point of view and question what you've written, because there are people who have a completely contrary opinion!" It's actually completely ridiculous to have such a discussion. Do you really think that protecting a person from negative reactions is of any use? The very idea is ridiculous. People simply can't stand anything these days. Even if a person on the internet marks their post with 🆘, so what? Are you crying now? If so, then you're not resilient enough as a human being to use the internet and we should isolate you from humanity from now on. It's best to wrap yourself in absorbent cotton and sit in a corner. Life is unfair - deal with it. And you won't cope any better if people try to protect you from it. Quite the opposite. If you are actually hit with really negative, genuine criticism in your real life, not on the internet, you won't even have the ability to counter it because you'll be so shocked that your brain capacity will be exhausted - these developments are sad.

I'm in favor of keeping it. I'm allowed to give positive feedback just like that with an emoji, but I'm supposed to explain negative feedback in a comment?

Would like a thoughtful one. ->🤔 Think about it again.

Instead of 🆘 you could at least introduce 👎. This way you can still express negative emotions, but it doesn't "scream" negativity as much as the 🆘

You're worried....

Sos is practically used as a dislike here. I think that's ok. I already didn't like the fact that yt removed it. We live in a world where you should be able to say NO. And SOS was a helpful sign for spam and troll posts, Bitcoin Olli and when someone said really weird things. Please keep it up. Thanks for asking, I thought monkey meant something like "primitive" uh uh. Well, I was taught better 😀

Yes, they can go away. If I think something is bad, I write it as a comment and explain why. Fortunately, there are very few posts here where you just want to hit the 🆘 button and move on.
