Capital markets have never been so accessible nor so popular. Since the beginning of the pandemic, in Germany alone, over 2m new investors aged under 30 have bought their first stock.
Globally, stock market participation has seen similar patterns of sudden explosion. While over the last few years, the narrative of investing gained more listeners, it’s the emergence of neo-brokers and their low fee models that enabled so many people to start investing or rather increase their trading volume.
In this rise, social networks played a pivotal role: especially during recent market volatility, young and inexperienced investors started gathering in online communities to discuss investment trends. The peak of this was reached when the sub-reddit wallstreetbets rapidly grew to over 10m users to support the US gaming company Gamestop and thus putting worldwide attention on the phenomenon of social investing.
However such rapid growth brought along unwelcomed side-effects: overflow of financial content and general euphoria on markets.
This is the reason why getquin was created in March 2020, with the drive to develop an app for helping you not only to manage your investments but as well to get inspired and learn from investing stories out of our community. Our first features were focused on providing you with a tool to build personalized ETF portfolios, coupled with financial content such as blog articles, market overview and financial news.
We then quickly added our second major pillar with a portfolio aggregation tool, allowing users to track multiple trading accounts, from stocks, ETF to crypto, which quickly gained traction from more than 50.000 users across Germany.
All together is better than alone.
Starting immediately, you now have the possibilities to establish profiles, connect with other investors in the app and leave your thoughts on transactions, be it your own ones or from your network.
Social interactions have been a sleeping giant in the investing space, as it was often perceived as a taboo to speak about money and investing. However, the democratization of stock markets has changed this perspective and put investing higher on everyone’s agenda. So it’s about time to have a tool capable of providing investors with a comprehensive platform to interact and learn from each other.
Whether you want to follow known investors or just keep it between friends, the getquin social network enables you to streamline your communication and sources of knowledge into one app.
New features & design.
Let’s take a look at it 👇
Set-up your profile, decide what portfolios you want to show and as well to whom. Want to keep it private and just for your friends? That’s no problem at all.
Follow friends, family and known investors so that you can get inspired by their investing stories. And jointly interact on each other's transactions to provide feedback and jointly grow your knowledge and investing experience.
Our mission is to build an inclusive and open financial community, and this requires an open platform where everyone can participate. This is why our platform supports any broker and it’s the user that decides how to connect his assets: manually, via our secure easy-to-use open banking API or via pdf drag-and-drop. Our institutional level portfolio monitoring gives you deep insights on all your connected assets, including country, sector and asset-class breakdowns.
We support multi-account aggregation, be it with your trading accounts that contain stocks, ETFs, precious metals or even crypto currencies and NFTs. So you never lose your assets out of sight.
P.S. we don't support derivatives, as we don't think they should be part of any investment strategies of retail investors.
Lastly, financial information is still a crucial part of the investing journey. For this, our users can look for relevant investment ideas from our own database and set-up watchlists to always be aware of what is happening on markets.
Let`s get social.
Our aim is to build a global online community that gathers investors from different backgrounds and experience levels to make investing more inclusive and interactive.
In the coming months, we will keep growing our +50,000 strong investor community and develop our social features to provide our members with all the needed tools to make appropriate decisions on stock markets.
Let’s join the ride 🚀
