Female Power Funds

Woman power! That's our favorite topic. As you know, Tessa and I are pursuing the mission of empowering women and promoting gender equality with finance, baby! For a long time, we didn't realize that we could actually contribute to this with investments.

But you can actually invest in women's power - or more precisely, in funds that have focused specifically on companies that have a particularly high proportion of women in their management or are most committed to gender equality. Because as Emma Watson says so well (one of our favorite quotes):

"If you stand for equality, you're a feminist. Sorry to tell you."

After all, feminism isn't about making women stronger than men, it's about fighting to ensure that we are eventually on the same level in all areas, especially including financially.

Let's talk about equality index!

The funds that we're going to introduce to you today are actually based on what's called an Equileap equality index.

Criteria for inclusion in this index include a market capitalization of at least USD 2 billion, a stock market listing in more than 23 industrialized countries and a pioneering role in the fight for equality in the workplace.

In addition, the index takes into account the classic ESG criteria and armaments, gambling or tobacco companies are generally excluded here. Companies that are the subject of proceedings for violations of equality in the workplace are also excluded. Awesome, isn't it?! 👩🏼‍🤝‍👩🏻

Why do we believe in women power funds (and why should you?) 🔥

In fact, there are some facts that speak very strongly FOR investing in Gender Equality funds. These are based on study results according to which companies with a high proportion of women in higher management levels develop more positively than companies with male-dominated management teams.

Accordingly, women take fewer risks that cannot be calculated. In addition, the diversity in the team leads to a better working climate/environment and to a greater diversity of ideas, viewpoints and opinions, which in turn has a positive effect on decisions.

Okay, got it! The Gender Equality Funds are awesome. That's why we're going to introduce you to four of them today. Let's dive right into it, baby!

The Lyxor Global Gender Equality ETF is composed of 150 companies worldwide that have a high priority for gender equality with respect to Equileap's 19 defined criteria.

#2 UBS ETF GLOBAL GENDER EQUALITY ETF (HEDGED TO)

The UBS ETF Global Gender Equality refers to the Solactive Equileap Global Gender Equality 100 Leaders Index. The fund company UBS ETF has a total expense ratio (TER) of 0.30% per year. The fund is, like all others here, accumulating and profits are reinvested.

#4 AXA WF Framlington Women Empowerment

Gender Equality as a UN Goal?! 😱 Did you know that...

..that the UBS ETF (IE) Global Gender Equality ETF (WKN: LYX0XS) even pays towards the UN Sustainable Development Goal 5? Sustainable Development Goal 5 addresses gender equality and is the fifth of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals set by the United Nations in 2015.

Five percent of the management fees collected on the ETF will be used by the UBS Optimus Foundation for charitable projects that support the United Nations goals. We love this!
