Evening,
I came across this financial platform through a gentleman from YouTube and saw in some of your posts that you often ask for feedback on personal portfolios.
About me:
I am 68 years young ;-) and was introduced to investing and (optimally) managing money at an early age by my parents. From then on, I was fascinated by the whole world of finance my whole life and was able to fulfill my dream of working on the stock market. An indescribable feeling :-)
I would be delighted if you would connect with me on this platform and if there is a keen interest in further stories from my day-to-day work or similar, I would be happy to publish more here.
I am now retired and have plenty of time ;-)
Now to my actual concern, dear financial community. After decades of stock market trading, mainly in the commodities sector, I have built up a portfolio on which I would like to get your valued opinion.
My current portfolio consists to a very large extent of commodity companies and the technology sector, as I wanted to add more risk here a few years ago.
I also bought Coca-Cola shares early on, as I felt there was a certain trend there.
What I am increasingly concerned about is the high volatility of certain positions. I am considering reducing some positions here. After all, you don't get any younger, and I would like to gradually spare myself the nightly worries about price fluctuations.
I am considering shifting more of the freed-up funds into defensive dividend stocks. What do the esteemed forum members think? Is such a reallocation advisable at my age?
I would be extremely grateful for your valued advice.
Best regards from Frankfurt
PS: If you are interested, I could also share some exciting anecdotes from my time in commodities trading in the 1980s. Those were the days when we had to make do without computers and prices were still quoted by telephone!
